Foreign coach v/s Indian coach.......
by Cedric Vaz on Apr 06, 2011 10:24 PM

Indians are not suitable as a coach because there will surely be a bias sooner or later for selection based on regionalism or state-wise preferential treatment of players. Also we still have a huge colonial hangover! An Indian coach will find it difficult to discipline volatile players compared to a 'gora'. And the players too tend to listen to a 'gora' but take Indians for granted. So most likely a Gary Kirsten or Shane Warne will do a better job than Sunil Gavaskar or Ravi Shastri based these two contexts only..... and nothing to do with competence or skill for which an Indian coach is far superior.

NO...No

We do not want an AUSTRALIAN at all as a coach. They treat asians as sub standard. we have experianced Mr.Chappel earlier, under whom we were out of world cup in first round. He has more time to talk with media rather than coaching. And this time it was Australia's turn. He was appointed as a Consultant before World Cup and see what miracle he did. He first created issues like keeping Batsman like Hussey out and successfully got Australia out of world cup much earlier. South African are down to earth peoples. some one like Pollock can do good Job

Kapil dev was the coach between 1998 and 1999. We went to australia and lost 3-0 in test matches and clobbered in every one of the one dayers. We didnt even reach the finals of tri-series. Not all great players make great coach and captains.

I guess stephen fleming is the right option. He is articulate, precise in thinking and has managed Newzealand captaincy well and won IPL as a coach with CSK. If not Stephen, then adam gilchrist. He seems smart and steady.

Nothing against indian coaches, but who? Dada- will not fit the role. Only Anil kumble seems fit. He already manages KSCA. So, my vote is with stephen fleming.
