Dhoni is super flop.
by Mr Nationalist on Apr 04, 2011 06:44 PM

just one innings doesnt make one hero, his entire contribution in world cup was zero, he came up the order on the final and snatched yuvraj's glory.he cannot be called modern icon as he is a selfish player who to make a place for his chennai superkings buddy suresh raina in the playing eleven changed the indian batting order and exposed yusuf pathan and virat kohli to uneasiness bec of which they became vulnerable, world knows yusuf is worlds dangerous batsmen at no 7 and virat is modern dravid in middle order,Dhoni is a looser and he should step down from captaincy and make way for younger and much promising Guatam Gambhir as india captain, its shame on people as they are forgetting that it was gautam who won us the final and not dhoni bec had Gauti not played dhoni would have gone back to pavilion under pressure as he admitted earlier.

Dhoni's performance with the Willow
by vijayakumar s on Apr 04, 2011 06:42 PM  | Hide replies

I do not agree with the view, Dhoni failed with the bat in earlier matches of WC and played well only in the WC final. In the earlier matches he was coming to bat lower down the order when only a few overs were left.
But in the WC final he came 3rd down and had enough time to stabilize and play a wonderful match winning knock.
Kudos to Dhoni for his leadership qualities which helped India to win the WC for the second time.

Dhoni's job is not only batting but more responsibility as a captain and wicket keeper. So his performance is above par.

You forget Dhoni's main responsibility - servitude to Pawar.

Agreed ! a billion indians led by Dhoni had no confidence that Yuvraj the player with a 90 average for the series in that position can deliver. Dhoni would have been even more brilliamnt if he had promoted himself over Tendulkar and Gambhir

Some points to ponder...
by Pradip on Apr 04, 2011 06:29 PM

The western world gives huge endowments to universities to carry out R&D which makes them well developed nations. While in India each state governments gives 1 crore to cricketrs and plots and bunglows.

What all do they do not get. Railways have decided to give them AC 1 class travel free for life. IPL, T20, endorsing brands...

The people who want to contribute to Science and Technology have no alternative but to leave the country as there are not much funds for carrying out research in India. And how will money come.. So much is going to IPL, T20, WC, and in playing friendly matches, advertisements. Sehwag is endorsing 11 brands. Five star hotels and what not.

Gavaskar wants 20 crore for IPL commentary.

Cn Indians in India be able to make a product like SAP. A german scientist has pioneered a technique for developing new blood vessels so as to avoid the need for any bypass surgery.
