A have seen people in this forum ridiculing Dhoni as D...bi and he really washed everybody away.Dhoni and Gambhir proved that even though they do not make records, they are big match players

winning sixer a slap on dean jones face as he said dhoni just dreaming of world cup and dhoni can never lift the world cup
Those filthy, slimy b@struds who kept abusing MS DHONI for his team selection and leadership issues and blamed him unfairly for any losses, even though he was not at fault.... need to publicly apologize to him..
Ya, that includes most of you marathi trzxds and racists who shamelessly kept abusing him even after he proved his leadership skills in crunch situations...
I hope today's performance has S H U T you up for good.

#1 He was gentlemanly at toss, even after Sanga cheated shamelessly.
#2 The reason why he selected Sreesanth instead of Ashwin is because we lost the toss and were going to bowl first in bouncy, seam-friendly conditions - which are supposed to help fast bowlers..
No sane captain in the world would play extra spinners against SRI LANKA or PAKISTAN - two of the best players of spin in the world.
#3 He rose to the occasion and helped chase down the largest total in world cup history
#4 He refused spotlight and gave the entire credit to Sachin and rest of team.
Even if you dont want to idolize him, at least have the decency and courtesy to at least STOP abusing him...
particularly after today's game.
BTW, after today's performance, Sreesanth deserves to be kicked out for good - having failed even on fresh bouncy pitch with new ball, he isnt good to represent us anymore. Case closed - time to find a new seamer.

The corporates who signed for so many contracts with Dhoni wanted him to do something today, and well the when the whole tournament is fixed, it is not tough to lift a cup.
A captain like Dhoni and a player like Sachin are hard to come by for any country. Zaheer is the other great in this team who will be remembered forever. Sehway and Gambhir are a great delight to watch when they get going. Yuvraj, Raina and Kohli often tilt the scales for India.

HE EVEN FORGOT SREESANTH AND OTHERS TOO. HE WAS TALIKING ABOUT PEOPLE WHO WERE REALLY PRODUCTIVE

I feel our 1983 win was far greater since then we had to beat a WINDIES team full of all time greats like Clive Lloyd, the great KING Sir Vivian Richards, late Macko Marshall, Mike Holding, Andy Roberts, Joel Garner, Gordon Greenidge, Desi Haynes, etc...all champs, absolute champs....And then the format was also tough and we beat a determined England team which was also very good with players like Botham, Willis, Gower, Lamb, Gatting, etc.....so that win ranks a shade higher...

Yes, absolutely true. Also don't forget the players in this squad who played 2003 finals. Just for Ponting's know, we were almost the winners of that cup. India won 7-8 matches on the trot and were beaten by the team comprising Ricky, McGrath, Hayden, Gilly and Lee. That cup was no less an achievement when compared to this one and 1983 one. This Lankan team, though a good side, can not be compared to that of 1983 West Indies or The Aussie team of 2003.

U call a win ag a team that is hailed as one of the true all time great teams in history...ag guys like King Riahcrds, Marshall, Greenidge, Holding, etc...all in prime...all players who are far greater than many of the many players today
had Dhoni not replaced nehra by sreesanth but by ASHWIN, Dhoni wud not face so much criticism before match what has pushed dhoni to perform with responsibility in 3rd down and play to win to mum all criticism!
its a historical event repeated! it is told that in this same year, shriRAM had conquered Lanka! so, Bharat has to win over lanka by cricket GodTendulkar asShriRam, and laxmanDhoni

Excellent comparison of Sachin as Lord Ram and of Dhoni as Laxman.
