Vikki Singh, I will come and pull your ears, don't write against me as I am your Uncle. I told you that no player can play well in all games. Dhoni could not play yesterday, today he did. In future your wife will do the same with you. Kabhi Nice kabhi ... No judging in one instance.

This win was for the brave

This is a moment in history. My analysis of this game is that the pitch was not all that scary as it seemed when the Lankans were playing towards the beginning. It was a great performance by the bowlers, excepting the last few overs when Lanka scored around 20 runs more - they were 188 after 40 overs. Great bowling and great fielding. Sree went for runs but so did Zak. Sree was the right choice for this game and so was Dhoni at no 5, where he determined to preserve his wicket and play steady. India would always win if wickets were preserved. After Mahela's innings I thought probably it was all about keeping wickets. The real might of Indian batting came to fore today - after the great Veeru and Sachin failed the lesser players showcased they could play. GG deserved the century. But Dhoni's innings was what was needed, nice time to return to form. Just brilliant and congratulations. GG, Kohli, Dhoni, Yuvi brilliant. Bowlers too good.

please start apppreciating the game
rather than keep telling that it is match fixing, one billion people told it is India who is going to win, are all involved in fixing

I could not agree more with you. Truth hurts, especially when you are in a celeration mood. Let people celebrate, but the truth is that it was fixed. Just like IPL matches were fixed in recent times.

its as if some guy here is carrying the people's mood to the team ...its spooky feeling but when dhoni came up the order i was bit surprised...its as if ur heart's wish was conveyed by god to that person

Clive Lloyd handed out some of the medals
by piri on Apr 03, 2011 12:43 AM  | Hide replies

today.

His team of the 1980s would have beaten all comers any day, any place, any pitch !

No team before them or since them (including the Australian team of the late 1990s) has come anywhere near them in having the kind of dominance over world cricket the way they had ! The team that had Lloyd, Greenidge, Haynes, Richards, Dujon, Marshall, Holding, Garner and Roberts would have blown away any other team in cricket history 9 times out of ten !!

Normally i dont agree wth many of your views, but this one is absolutely correct. Imagine King Richards without helmet playing quicks and disdainfully despatching them, he sluaghtered the Indian attack then in 1983 finals and it was only when he left that the slide started. Then they had the fast men pack of Roberts, Holding, Marshall, Garner...all super fast bowlers....i feel our win in 1983 was indeed better than the current one any day and more to be treasured.
