Pathan at No. 8 is must for India's chance

think India need extra cushion in batting as they shown vulnerability in batting in the last two games against Australia and Pakistan. Team should feel itself extremely lucky that it has a player like Suresh Raina who kept his head extremely cool (highly difficult, make no mistake) on both the occasion. If Sachin is lauding him there must be significant reasons behind it. Infact I rate his performances in the last two games as top 2 reasons of India's world cup triumph !
But India can't rely on him alone as luck can't favor Raina every time. India's batting has been under tremendous pressure through out the WC. INDIA NEED YUSUF PATHAN IN FINAL ! As Jayawardhane said the pitch is brown so obviously it will have low bounce and turn so there is no need for extra seamer. Instead India will definitely go with Ashwin but I would say GO WITH PATHAN (he is not a part timer, he is extremely competent spinner and explosive batsman) ! Had Pathan played the Pakistan and Australia match there would not be any panic in the dressing room ! Thankfully Raina played two CRUSIAL knocks otherwise...! So I would say go with PATHAN in the final otherwise Malinga and co. can take Indian batting in the DEEP of Arabian sea !
One more thing Yusuf can bowl like Ashwin on brown wicket but Ashwin can't bat like Yusuf even in his wildest dream !!

thats the reason of keeping Pathan ! The wicket is slow and low and he can bowl 10 overs of Ashwin but 1 or 2 overs of him against SL spinners can turn the match upside down in India's favor !

Final !!!
by sachin on Apr 01, 2011 03:39 PM  | Hide replies

Mumbai, April 1 (AFP): Sachin Tendulkar goes into Saturday's World Cup final against Sri Lanka with a billion Indians hoping he wins the elusive title with his 100th international century.
Tendulkar will enter his home turf at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai determined to add the only silverware missing from the collection of the most celebrated cricketer of the modern era.
The Indian star, who turns 38 this month, holds almost all coveted batting records, but not even his individual brilliance could win the ultimate prize in a team sport like cricket.
Playing in his sixth and possibly last World Cup, a record he shares with Pakistan great Javed Miandad, Tendulkar has led from the front to lift India into the final.
His 464 runs in the tournament are just three behind Sri Lankan Tillakaratne Dilshan's 467, and he goes into the title clash one ton away from recording an unprecedented 100 international centuries.

Dont compare Lord Ram with Ravan even if they were equal in power. Even if both the cricketers had the right intention of playing from their teams and that both were good onfield players, there is a huge mismatch on their off-field attitude. Sachin Tendulkar is a true gentlemen and does not like to get imbroiled in controversies, whereas javed miandad took his hatred for India a step further by marrying his daughter to declared terrorists' son in Dubai. A gentleman like Sachin would not indulge in such a cheap tactic even against his sworn enemy.

Crciket matches like Tests&3day Matches Must be Banne
by YingYang on Apr 01, 2011 02:56 PM

Real Heroes for our win against pakis were sachin, ashish nehra, raina, harbhajan&munaf. Hope our team lives up to the promise and prayers of one billion indians and lifet the world cup be demolishing the lankans. India and third world countries must ban Test Crciket and monotonous 3 day and 5 day matches forever and must not allow precious time of millions of hours wasted on long versions of criket in domestic and international tours too. Limited over matches of 50 or 20 overs must be aplyed only on week-ends and holidays or during nights so that our economy dos not continue to suffer as before and cricket was invented by british colonizers and looters to make people of colonies and youth lazy and morrons forever and if the westerne developed countries want to play 5 day tests or 3 day macthes, etc it is their problem and we should refuse to play long duration cricket matches in future. Shame intellectuals and patriots and media are keeping quiet and are not making enough noise to ban cricket tests and 3 day matches, etc forever.Shame, Indians,Shame

finals schedule is unfair..
by Dhantannan on Apr 01, 2011 02:51 PM

we played semis on wed..
and finals is on sat.
the gap is too short for such a pretigious tournament.
it should have been on Sunday.
