I was a Cricket player at the state level and Umpire, as well as an International Rated Chess Player too. My question is how many have you cheered Viswanathan Anand when he was on the top of the world playing for the World Title. He successfully won 3 times in a row, not only Anand but also many of our other sports personalities won laurels at the top level, why only Cricket? Though I too love to see my INDIA winning the WORLD CUP this time, I request all the people too cheer and encourage other games and sports too.

You will always find more audience for team sports than individual sports and least of all a sport which is not filled with atheleticism. No one can do anything about it!!!

Likings and preferences cant be changes just by mere thinking. They are from deep inside and it is for every team game. Hockey is not doing well, football has not much scope in India, cricket has scope, audience and govt. support which makes it much more preferred then any other sport. i think u have forgotten that in commonwealth olympics normal people dont even got the ticket for opening and closing ceremonies. so its just all about interests not about will
I am one of the few(May a micro minority) will heave a sigh of deep relief when this media created frenzy over WC 2011 gets over.Never has been so many(122 Crores) been conned by so few(BCCI Media advertisers politicians Bollywood) to make people forget the real problems facing the country.Hope the hypnotised aam aadmi will see the reality soon once the honeymoon period gets over.
The best team for the game against Sri Lanka is 1. Sewhag. 2. Tendulkar. 3. Virat Kolhi or Gambhir. 4. Raina. 5. Yuvraj Singh. 6. Yusuf Pathan. 7. Dhoni. 8. Ashwin. 9. Zaheer. 10. Harbhajhan. 11. Sreesanth.
• Munaf & Nehra did not bow exceptionally well yesterday as many people think. It was due to the Pitch conditions, Semi-Final pressure and most importantly the weak batting order of the Pakistan team that led to their downfall.
It’s great news that Nehra is already out of the world cup due to injury. Surely, Ashwin will replace him inspite of Dhoni’s antics.
• Gambhir/Kolhi should be replaced with Pathan, & Munaf should be replaced with Sreesanth. With this combination, we can comfortable beat Srilanka. With the same combination, India would have won against Pakistan with a margin of more than 50 runs.
• Since, Srilanka having a better batting lineup than Pakistan & also their batting order extends upto N0-7 in Mathews; it would be foolish if Dhoni plays with the same team that played against Pakistan. Let’s hope that Dhoni selects the best team.
If Sri Lankans foolishly play an injured Murali instead of Randhiv (Who is a quality bowler) & oldie Chaminda Vaas instead of Mathews/Dilhara Fernando, India can beat Sri Lanka comfortably.

If we bat first, makes sense to include Ashwin (asyooming pitch deteriorates).. if we bowl first, we can take Sreesanth as he is at his best with new ball during first innings.
Rest of team same except Virat.. take yusuf instead of him.
We'll win as long as we stay in present and take each ball on its own merit.

Ok, Misbah helped us but they can also say Dhoni helped pakistan, even Uvi helped the pakis, even Tendulkar tried to help pakis; still they could not win.
Plz tell the whole truth; fixing is part of cricket; Last three WCs were totally fixed; This WC is only partially fixed. Then why you are praising bookie players like Warne, Symmo, Gilli, Gibbs, English team? At least Indian team is clean this time. Tell the whole truth.

why only cricket ? every SPORT is fixed and before everythign it will be decided who is winner and who will be loosers, i say even Olympics....
If India wins then it is all bribery. If Pakistan wins, it is all pure talent. If Misbah couldnt put bat to ball then it is bribery but if Yuvi gets bowled, it is the paki bowler's talent. What non-sense? This Paki team sucks big time against India. Admit and leave it at that. Loser Pakis!

Misbah was acting under instructions from dressing room to hold down one end and let the other batsmen do the scoring..
Its not his fault that Yunus Khan, Razaq and Afridi flopped.
