Dhoni Test Captaincy records before start of the 1st test match vs Australia...
He played 17 tests so far as a captain....
11 WIN , 4 DRAW , 2 LOSE..
He took captaincy from Anil Kumble in 2008..and from then he never lost a series till date..
India is No.1 in Tests from 2009 series vs Srilanka..So India is No1 in tests from last one yr..
One interresting fact that last series vs Australia in 2008 India played 4 tests ...2 under Kumble captaincy and 2 under dhoni's captaincy but both the wins came under Dhoni's captaincy..
As a batsmen he lost his batting form but as a tests captain he is the best till date..

rajib sen, when you say dhoni has lost his batting form, what exactly do you mean?
BTW dhoni has captained india 16 times in tests with 10 wins.

I mean that the way Dhoni started his carrier briliantly..for sometime he is not in his best of form..and I post this comment against some anti Dhoni fan...Thats why i wrote in my coloumn that as a batsmen he is out of form now but as a captain he is the best...and i am also a gr8 fan of Dhoni...
In this post lots of people are said drop Dhoni..he is not deserve a place in the team then i wrote this.. I guess in my post u get my motive against anti Dhoni fans..
But Dhoni has captained India in 17 times and 11 wins..
I guess u frgt 2008 series vs SA where he captained team India for the 1st time due to absence of Team Inmdia regular captain Anil Kumble..and 1st match as a captain he won the match... i guess u missed that one..

rajib sen, i am fine, thank you. but for your information dhoni has not lost his form. in fact for the past two years he has batted magnificently and as a captain he has batted at a 50 plus average, both in tests and in odis. In fact rajib sen his batting performance when he is captain is better than his batting performance when he is not captain. In fact dhoni must be one of the very few (if indeed there are any) players in the world whose performance as a captain is better than his performance when not a captain. all other captains i know have performed a shade less when he is captain than when he is not becuase of the added captaincy responisbilities.
i havent forgotten his 2008 series vs SA debut. but he has indeed captained india side 16 times before the current test. perhaps you counted one match against Bangladesh as under his captaincy when actually it was sehwag who was captain. dhoni returned for the 2nd test to lead india to another test win.

Yes, Gobi recently won against South Africa. I assure you South Africans are a pack of fixers. Dhoni cannot make strategies, it will be always made by underworld. He will be thrown few loafs inbetween, to establish his captaincy. Major tournaments will elude him

Thambi, you are assuming based on IPL.. come out of it. Think of National Interest!
Just cos Dhoni did some hitting in Dharmasala and took you to Semis in IPL, dont start singing his songs... He need to win for India.. on merit...!! India suffered two shameful defeats purely cos of his planning and performance!! That too in a single series..!!
anyasshole can make it to the top...but only brains can kkep him there for along time..old proverb..learn hard and thinkk. We have een countless captains.. Sachin,Rahul adn ganguly.
How was there batting during their captainship..

Gambhir....most illtempered person...fought with afridi ,akmal. Sehwag...loud mouthed person..gets into trouble with media Sachin...no doubt we have seen ..ha ha the worst ever captain we ever had. Harbhajan.. controversy person

he he he...!!! I cannot. I can just criticise...!! There is no replacement for Dhoni, because the selectors killed the chance of having another keeper... its been Dhoni Dhoni all the while that ppl dont even know who else we have in the keeping department!
Karthik has screwd all his chances.. Saha is nowhere ready.. Havent seen parthiv for years!
So yeah! Dhoni made sure that he is the only option for the next 50 years...!! Even if he plays pathetic (like how he's been recently).. forget abt IPL or CL...
He is sitting comfortably on the captain's seat and riding on his luck! Any other team would have pushed him to perform! But this is India.. the land of hero worshippers!

"well of course" it is his fault. Karthik was in the playing eleven and Dhoni kept wickets with an injured finger.. he did not collect the ball clean, he blocked the ball and dropped it on the ground, cos he was not able to grab it properly..

i think we were talking abt karthik's ability as a batsmen and how he fared in the chances given to him wrt batting. this cannot b Dhoni's fault. not allowing Karthik to keep wickets - u can say that Dhoni was at fault but had karthjik kep wickets for that brief period, do u think he wud hav replaced Dhoni. Good logic :)

nostradamus, i see that you are completely unaware of the fact that as a batsman dhoni's performances both in tests and in odi's when he was captain is better than his batting performances in tests and odis when he was not captain.

vijay singh, dhoni has won a MOM against aus in a test match on the strength of his batting.
At this level ,when u r coming for discussion, u must read lines very carefully. No need of reading twice or thrice , this is not the question paper for the exams. But what we can expect that u understand the things. He is not a general ordinary player, that everybody accepts. Why he is being abused in this forum is just because we could'nt digest that any poor guy can perform at this level. Yes he has been lucky but its true that we all need luck to convert the opportunity to the success, if any body says , NO ... I'll say he has not tasted the taste of success. WE ALL NEED A BIT OF LUCK TO GET THINGS 100%, successful. Coming to the topic he has never said that he never make plans, he has cleary said u must have to adopt to the situation and plan then execute, even if it fails then adopt to other one. Because anywhere in the world when u r controlling a groul you will have to very flexible, at the same time very innovative also. When u get success ppl praise you, but when u fail they abuse thats the story of the process of the happenings or life. So no hard feelings read the lines carefully and then u r free to comment. IN INDIA THERE IS NO CENSOR ON THE MEDIA..ANYBODY CAN WRITE OR SAY ANYTHING... but come to the place where he is then talk about such issues.. many of us cannot even digest..

I don't know who u r , but have seen ur many msgs in the past, in this board. But dear for ur information this is not Mrs. Dhoni, infact cannot be Mrs of anyone, as Im Mr., My statement is not against anyone, but its my view towards someone who is really doin good, atleast in my opinion. A lot of us are talking about the bowling attack, bbut to tell u the truth when you will be there, you will also back ur team mate , as it is part of ur process, to co operate and give confidence to ur players. Its different matter why they are in the team, this we will have to ask some one who is in the selection board.
