That could be arguably the best description of Sachin Tendulkar.
Despite his huge talent, artistry, commitment and class, he couldn't succeed earlier as captain of Indian team.
As captain of Mumbai Indians, he was a non starter in 2008, failed to qualify for semifinals in 2009 and faltered at the finals in 2010.
He skipped the triseries ODI in Srilanka (should be considered a wise decision, since he has nothing to prove or no records to create in ODIs, having scaled the peak) to come home ahead of the rest of the team, practised and prepared hard for the CLT20, his was the first team to arrive in South Africa (as reported in media).
Despite all this commitment and preparation, his team lost narrowly in the first game and now has lost the second game.
Looks like he has to consult some astrologer, numerologist, palmist.....

sachin is a hopless captain. he is not sure what he wants to do. sachin had big hand in loosing the match with his idiotic captaincy and offcourse the drop catch.
I think Tendulkar NEEDS TO BAT at #3 when BATTING FIRST and at #4 WHEN CHASING for the WC 2011 in a 50 over game!
Sehwag and Gambhir should open! Raina should come in at #3 when India chase!
The 15-member team should be: Sehwag, Gambhir, Raina, Tendulkar, Yuvraj (Dravid), Dhoni, Irfan Pathan (Abhimanyu Mithun), Zaheer Khan, Praveen Kumar, Sreesanth, Ashwin, Jakati, Ambati Rayudu (Manish Pandey), Saurabh Tiwari, Virat Kohli, RP Singh (Bhajji needs to be dropped - he should be a wicket taking bowler woefully out of form - most players around the world are handling him easily now and so should Ishanth Sharma)!!

cricketbuff, sachin will be very furious at you if you send him at #3 or #4. you know what happened when greg chappell made him bat at no. 4 in the last WC. sachin was so furious at chappell, at no. 4 he could not make even a single century. he was so upset with greg that he actually said openly to the media that because of that decision of greg india could not win the WC. (such cheek from tendulkar)
Sachin shd learn hw 2 bat in T20 cricket. He's a failed captain in all forms of the game. Yday also bowling murtuza inside 6 overs was a false decision. He himself dropped a sitter & costed his team a defeat.
Did extremely well. He is proving himself again and again. It is time he be brought into the ODI team in place of Rohit Sharma/ Virat Kohli. Similarly, Uthappa should be brought in place of Dinesh Karthik for the WC.
