Let me enlighten the ignorant people here who do not follow the news articles closely.
The reason BCCI, did not implement UDRS is because of the costs involved. They publicly told this and asked ICC to cover the costs, and ICC denied.
The current BCCI contract with the sponsors do not cover UDRS costs. So BCCI wants to wait until the current 4 year contract expires.
The players having reservations with the system has nothing to do with the issue.
The Indian did not like the way UDRS deals with LBW appeals, because they were victims.Other players will also feel the same when they become victims.

Currently the system says that, the on-field umpires should take the decision unlike run-out appeals. So the umpire should ask a few questions and obvioulsy it will be, is the ball in the line? how high is the ball on impact? and he should take the call.
Our players are not convinced with some such decisions in SL.I feel the udrs should not deal with LBWs completely except when the batsman snicked it.
Nevertheless, bcci will implement it in the next contract

UDRS

If UDRS is to be used then it should be allowed every time with no limitations on how many can be used. Why should a team exhaust its number of appeals?

And LBW is many times subjective, umpires are the best judge -sure they make mistakes.

I think UDRS should be used only for catches and or bat pad desicions and run outs, not for LBW's.

Sachin wants to get the benefit of not given out for LBW - by umpires since he is big name ...so does not like UDRS as then all decisions will be fair and same for everyone.

Failing in Sri Lanka
by Murali Krishnan on Oct 27, 2010 07:54 PM

India still fear UDRS since it lost 1-11 to Sri Lanka in referrals. But need to remember 3rd umpires were not neutral in Sri Lanka that time and were biased. Failing once doesn't mean they get always unfavorable decisions.

Is Indian cricket team full of hypocrites?
by PG on Oct 27, 2010 07:23 PM

Every now and then Indian team or the public starts shouting that umpires are biased against Indians. Then why the hell Indian team is against URDS? They should be the first one to embrace it.

UDRS:FACTS
by rahul bajaaj on Oct 27, 2010 06:53 PM  | Hide replies

India was the first team that welcomed UDRS thinking that Umpires were always biased against them(particularly Tendulkar). But, when india toured srilanka, no indian batsman could play Ajantha Mendis nor Muralitharan (Still Now) & also due to ineffective bowling of the Hyped monkey Harbhajhan Singh. Due to this, BCCI (our Cricketeers )cried and is hijacking the ICC for the deferral of UDRS.
Muralitharan continued to haunt the Indian inspite of his retirement from International matches. Such, is the might of our great batting power???????????????

BCCI & Indian cricketeers are not Hypocrites but are Arrogant to the CORE. Indians are the most racist in the world based in hurting castes, sub castes, creed, colour, religion etc... but pretent to be holy and critise countries like Australia, England etc..
which is supported by the mindless uneducated cricket fans.... Pity on Indian fans...
