These kinds of Rating are piece of crap . It's like comparing Apples with Oranges . Comparing so many greats from different eras and fitting them in a team of 12 isn't a good idea at all. There are hidden personal agendas of the agencies that come out with such Ratings and Teams

This inning ot 148 is dead rubber match where Shastri made 206 and Sidhu made 100 I guess. - His Innings In PERTH still one of the greatest to me he has played..Hats off To him..This inning showed his class
2. year 1999 2 229 116 57.25 1 0 - - 0 0 0 - 61 in Adelide..Ganguly also made 60 - 116 and 52 in Melbourne..No Support from other players. One of the best Series for Sachin in AUS.. - In 2000 they played in Sydeny, I believe there is no significant contribution from Sachin. Laxman made 167.

Miserable series for Sachin. Infact India could have won this Series, His slow 200 and 50 followed by Patel missing catches, made this match end in a draw.
- Test match in PERTH. He made 72. But Dravid Made 93. And equally impressive second innings by Laxman 79..Standing alone with tail enders. And Not to forget Kumble. - His Avg is high becos of 154* in Sydney.>Good First innings. But equally good innings by Laxman. India lost the match. - In Adelide MAde 148, where everybody made a 100.
So find it for yourself. I am considering in Aus, reason being very tough and competitive. What I find Sachin was good, but equally Dravid and Laxman were good. And in the last 2 series Kumble was excellent.

Surprized to see Sunil Gavaskar missing in the first world 11 team. He made most of his runs against the deadly attack of WI, Oz, Pak & English. He fearlessly counetred the attack of Lillee, Marshal & Akram in different conditions.

Another misconception. With all due respects to gavaskar. the west indies team that he dominated did not have a single world class bowler. and when the world class bowlers played in west indies team he did not score his runs. Check his stats against west indies, when marshall, holding, roberts played and when they did not play. He has a pathetic record

Ajithkumar, the stats are only when he played in West Indies which is 1 series , thats not fair. Check the stats when they came to India, it is tremendous.

moreover its a team of 11 players with slots for openers,bowler, wk,etc . gavaskar would make into top 5 openers

If use of a helmet is a yardstick for judging how good a batsman is, Gavaskar's got to be rated better than not just Tendulkar, but every batsman of the helmet era!
Sports is a media of entertainment!!and if their is any award to be given for biggest entertainer!!! than with no argument,this should go to Sachin ramesh Tendulkar... For almost 21 year,he has been entertaining the spectetors all accross the world.. Little master take a bow for that..

No NO U are wrong...He has not been entertaining Pakistan and Indian Musalmans ....NO WAY. They just hate him. These people can stand good sporting performance from an Indian There maybe be few exceptions
