Q. What does Dhoni say to his team mates at the dressing room when coming out to bat? A. Don't take my seat, will be back right now !!! Q. What does Dhoni tell himself now that it seems that the Goa ODI is likely to be washed out? A. Thank you God, please keep your guys on duty to keep pouring down more water so that I don't have to bat!!!!!
That the sports administrators in India have no brains is amply proven by scheduling 3 ODIs against Australia in either coastal cities or areas where there are monsoonal rain! The matches could have been spread across India in relatively dry places like Nagpur or Kanpur or Jamshedpur or Gwalior or Hyderabad or Pune or Jaipur where chances of rain during October are less. All these centres have decent venues and facilities.BCCI seems to be the repository of all wisdom and does as it pleases without even worrying about consequences of its actions. Imagine a fantastic Test being played in Mohali with just a few hundred spectators! This Test deserved a venue like Kolkata or Chennai or Mumbai where there is appreciation of traditional cricket. Instead it was given to a centre which never attracts people for Tests inspite of having great infrastructure. Every one else knows people in Punjab prefer the shorter forms of cricket but BCCI does not! Why else would it stage a Test there? Because Bindra said so?

Absolutely right. It normally rains in southern part of the country during Oct-Dec due to south-east monsoon. Still, BCCI keeps matches in Southern India during that period. This has been going on for years, and BCCI is least bothered about that. Your second point of hoisting test matches only at venues like Chennai, Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata is perfectly right because even today, there is great support for 5 days traditional test cricket.

Well though you may be right about the rains here in Goa in October but believe me it never rained the way it rained this year in the month of Oct. there used to be just occassional showers all these years. Goa was suppose to stage ODI as per the rotational policy of three years in the month of Feb during the SA-Ind series early this year. Since that was not given they decided to host it in October this year. Also there are no more home seriesbefore the world cup next year. Ind-NZ series in November could have been the other option though.

u are absolutely right in sayiing so. this year there is an extra ordinary long monsoon season. it is raining in mumbai also since last one week but it is not that heavy. this rain is also damaging the seasonal crop in western coastalregion. i think people should woory about loss of crop more than a one day match. mr. sharad pawar is not going to help us although there is heavy buffer stock.

You're right Praveen! These cricket's just boring. Cricket is a waste game in every aspect. Time consuming, money consuming. The game is not transparent.
What a crazy idea ! But then, for cricket, anything goes. One remembers the painful spectacle of cricket being played in the stadium build for Asian Games in Delhi, which effectively ruined the stadium and when an international athletic meet was proposed there, it was cancelled because it was thought that the athletes would be hurt since the synthetic track was in such poor shape.
Think positive. India will win the series at least then. Oct end it does rain in Goa. If BCCI and Goa Crciekt Association did not know it I am sorry they do not deserve to have a game. I feel sorry for the spectators who inspite of threat of rain wait for their turn to watch an ODI.

It is raining in Goa for last few days.Today it is very heavy. It will be very difficult for the organisers to get the ground fit for play by 24th even if it does not rain tomorrow because outfield is damp and no Australian fielder will take the ground. This is hundred percent!!!.

This is a unlucky ground for India, its good that it rains.
