Sachin plays only for himself
by Aijaz on Oct 11, 2010 06:40 PM  | Hide replies

I still remember the 1999 world cup, where he was out cheaply against Aus, whereas he scored a 100 against Kenya, in 2003 world cup, ponting scored 150 whereas sachin was out on 30 or 40, in 2002 natwest final, sachin was out playing a bizare stroke, he plays only for himself.

I still remember in one Finals, way back to the same time that the commentator refers, aganist the same Ausis, sachin won the match for India. After all he made runs ONLY BY playing for India.

32 runs which Raina made today were far more interesting and entertaining. I wish he could last longer... He would have livened up the match...

I like to play IFFY games too....

Here goes... IF Australia were all out within 10 runs, and IF Raina had scored 532 within 26 overs and IF Australian second innings was even worse than the first innings and they scored 2 runs then we could have won the match easily thanx to the excellent bowling of Chiranth Prasad (IF he learnt to play cricket and was in the Indian team)... ;-)

Guys, remember how westeners boast their icons, be it Bradman, Ponting, etc. Why then we are always so cheep to critisize our own icon. It may be a persional achievement, but could be done only by a player of his caliber. First be self respect before you guys critisize others.

looks like your analysis is based on some few innings I guess. In that case if we take up sharjah cup and same world cupe where he was Man of the series played incredible innings against pakis and first evr tri series victoory against aussies palyed in all both finals a century and ninety odd knoock in that case your analysis is lil short dude... your only aim is to hate sachin... jalnewalo ko jalne ka bahana chaahiye.. aaj kaa nahi to puraanaa nikaalooo.. hahahaha

But not a Single Run out this 14000 runs has ever given an Indian Victory in any one of the Test matches he has played, Like VVS Laxman, Rahul Dravid,Virendra Sehwag.

All those Runs are only dedicated to self glorification.

just a quick question ... how does his 4th innings score matter in the first place ?

so in your opinion, its better to score a century in the 2nd inning than the 1st inning ?

Re: Re: Re: Re: 14000 Runs

then definitely he must be greatest if u consider 1st innings only..
having overall average of 57 with under 40 average in second innings means, he has been doing greatly all these years...
what u need to realize is Test cricket is of 2 innings each for the team... u get duck out in the first innings then score some runs in the second will not make one great.

Bisen Bedi once told " That short man(Gavaskar) Plays for himself, but if other 10 players also play for themselves only then also India will do much better in the matches. The same thing apply here. So donot see these 14000 runs as you have seen it.

Its a team game, and doesn't depend on a single performance all the time... if one keeps failing continuously, he will be out of the team.

Tendulkar is playing for whom?
by chase joseph on Oct 11, 2010 06:26 PM  | Hide replies

Tendulkar is playing for India? I dont think so. Neither is he playing for himself. He plays because of the passion for the game. He is playing just because of that. He may benefit and India may benefit, but those do not seem to be the concern. And we enjoy because we also love the game.. Cricket is not a war, so that we talk about patriotism.. nationalism and all those.. I dont think there was ever a man who was half as passionate as Tendulkar is for the game of cricket.

he's not the kind of guy who will do 400. but he surely is the guy who scores regularly, prolific batsman. he probably is the most studied batsman in the world, and they'd try and attack his weakness in every single tour. what a pressure to handle! and he's also received more bad decisions than any others i presume!

Go and get some life dude, you can't blame media for not showing problems on first page. They are not charity anymore. If we feel something has to be done about an issue, we have to take action and not wait for system to make move. Stop blaming and start to act.
