Relax and enjoy:Don't leave home without Laxman
by om shanti on Oct 06, 2010 05:51 AM

Bring me my Bow of burning gold;
Bring me my Arrows of desire:
Bring me my Spear: clouds unfold!
Bring me my Chariot of fire!

William Blake

They counted on that sore vertebra of his too much and forgot the man has a formidable spine. In the first outing, pain had chained his reach and rasp. He came late and left early, half cocking a benign dipper into the slips: V.V.S. Laxman, caught Michael Clarke bowled Nathan Hauritz for two.

This morning he put a bone to his back, like a warrior would put sword to scabbard, and strode into the field of slaughter, unbothered that it was already soaked in blood and more would leap to stain his whites. For him this was a classic double-relish moment.

Laxman favours the second innings, he favours a fight to the finish even more. But ever more than any of that, he has a fondness for favouring the Aussies with strokes of silken lashing. It began as an adolescent fancy, punishing the men from Down Under, and then flowered from hobby to habit to hallmark.

As a colt, he played three Under-19 Tests against the Australians in the spring of 1994. The visitors’ attack was laced with such lethal future stars as Brett Lee, Jason Gillespie and Andrew Symonds. Laxman hit three tons and ended the series averaging 110.25. Ricky Ponting’s men should have remembered.

hahaha...

whatever you said, Dhoni already proved that he is the most sucessful caption for all the three formats of the game and he is maintaining our Test team with no1 status for a year and it will go on....

Dhoni is india's costliest player and nobody can replace him...

Dinesh Karthik has the capability
by kumar on Oct 05, 2010 08:20 PM  | Hide replies

Guys, I am not sure why lot of people hate tamils. I believe Dinesh Karthik is having the capability to play like Laxman. Only thing is he needs time to groom.

The telugus always have the inferiority complex against Tamils.
They show their frustration of not able to match by simply scolding, abusing and using foul language against Tamils!
They can never be cured!
Leave them like that...

These Shah Gujaratis are always backstabbers.
Do you Shah, there are thousands of other crickets players who played for India and far better than VVS Laxman ? VVS has played good in this game which do not mean that you should make him a player of all time....

If I start writing the names, the whole this blog will not be sufficient. Forget it.. You may please name few players who have not played better than VVS... Iam not denying d fact that VVS is not a good player.. but I am against such type of over exergeration by you people. You are like Indian media... double standards. 2moro if VVS do not play in couple of games then you same people will start cursing him.
Sachin is God of Cricket.. Okay, agreed.. but not all others who will play one game in the blue moon and then get disappeared for decades.

My dear Ali
It is not what you hold as records. It is that one innings which gives the country stability and impossible win. There is no use in getting or hitting tons and tons when even a fifty would have atleast saved the match.

dhoni is a lucky
by arul m on Oct 05, 2010 05:07 PM  | Hide replies

I invite all the 24x7 news channels that to discuss how dhoni is incredibly lucky these days, that Don is dead and gone and hence hampering aussie line-up upfront.
On the factors that Allan border, waugh bros and hayden have retired and hence weakening their line-up further
Similarly on bowling front dennis, thommo have retired Shane and mcgrath have hung boots, so the bowling is also below par
SO this victoy of India is indeed over a weakened aussie line up playing test after a long break should not be hailed as great
Dhoni is jus plain lucky what say?? Boria
