Umpire Ian Gould would now have to play a crucial role for Australia, give at least 5 Indian top order batsmen out when they are not if Australia are to win the next one.
Umpire Ian Gould did a valiant job today for Australia by declaring Ishant Sharma out lbw on a delivery going down leg side and missing all stumps but his effort came in a bit late.
Hopefully for Aussies, Ian would practise more and try to declare top order Indian batsmen out on every appeal if Aus wants to level series.

In the end it all evens out my friend. Ohja was out plumb LBW but Bill Bowden didn't give him. India would have lost by 5 runs had he given him out.

Glad that India won, otherwise the media would have blamed the umpire.. not the efforts of Dhoni and Co in the first innings to to squander a chance of the lead!

Steve Bucknor should have been sent to officiate a match of blind cricketers, he being totally blind in his last few years of umpiring.

India is to be blamed in this series... they opposed the UDRS... Aussies are for it but BCCI was against it..!

Was your heart in your mouth when you opened cricinfo? That is normally the case with me when I switch on TV and match is expected to have a tight finish.

Thing is those kinds of moments get stuck in your memory. Not like these days when team is playing 40 on dayers and 15 tests a year. I don't even remember much these days.

very true..and the quality. Even today, the last innings of Gavaskar in Bangalore and te 97n.o. by Vishwanath against WI in 1979,they are just in front of me eyes.

Yes sir I did. Cannot forget the hard work of Ravi Shastri and then Mainder singh getting out LBW to Craig Methews. And it was an Indian umpire who gave it out ;-)

Only problem with sab,tv,serials now is that they waste so much time in songs and festivals and that makes it boring.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: @cricketfan

that's in most of the progs...giving importance to some festivals..ok,no heady stuff
Sometime back, this captain was against the elders in the team. Today they saved the day and the match for us. In fact,Dhoni has become old.He should retire.
