what about 3rd inning century against Aussies in Melborn on his return to Indian team??? if that attack was weak, than why first 40 runs on 5th day morning was scored by only Sehwag??? wasn't any-other batsman at other end???

shewag failed only in last match against aussies. he is champion stuff. he can single handedly change the game specailly test match in a session. remember against aussies in changed the game when kumble was captain and it was his last series.

Do u think South Africa against whom he scored 319 in chennai is a weak team. Grow up kid. Dont comment without information....
sewag may not be consistent,, may get out early every match,, but really the match would be interesting only till he is batting ,,what a man he is and what a great inspiration,, hats offf sewag
Re: luv u sewagg
by supriyo das on Nov 10, 2010 04:01 PM
who says he is not consistent? He has scored a century in almost all the test series he has played in home or abroad.
Re: luv u sewagg
by sam on Nov 11, 2010 04:49 AM
and whenever he scores centuries, they are always the big ones.. he doesnt ususally get out immediately after scoring a century.. he most often convert it into 150 plus score
sehwag had an answer for everything... his GK is amazing... most often he gets out early, therefore gets lot of free time to read general knowledge books...

well in tryin to act smart, u r claimin false,he is without one of the most consistent test batsmen in the recent times,go sort out ur GK

by your name i can think of u as a paki. I can realize ur frustation. u get lucky once, twice or even thrice not every time. Give our team the credit to fight it out not like urs selling the team and country for a few lakhs. now sit down and polish my shoes.

Dhoni has made the team in such a way that every one likes to perform. Unlike other captains Dhoni is different. He likes to give credit to all who perform. Players like to play under him, there is no fight for the captain's position and we have a stable captain and team at present. India earned number 1 spot with the way they are performing.
South Africa is not new in this segment to play this kind of game, this time they have identified very right charecter to be targeted. The one who can demolish all kind of bowling attackes on all kind of wickets. How many runs he score is never more important than the tone he sets for the match. Rest to follow.
Sehwag is successful in Asian pitches only (ghar ka sher) in foreign pitches he always fails to score.

When everyone failed in Newzealand, Viru was the Man of the Series. With hundreds in test and ODIs. Check everything before writing.
Re: Viru
by Yogesh Hasabnis on Nov 10, 2010 04:05 PM
He scored his first hundred in SOuth Africa in his first test itself. He scored a century in England in 2002 series. He scored 195 on a bouncy wicket at Melbourne. He scored a hundred at Adelaide in the 2008 series against Australia. So, it's not right to say that he scores only on Aisan pitches. He has scored everywhere. And then he doesn't expect to be treated as a "God" as some others do.

@India. His stats are accurate.
But
@NeutralMan
On that count, Sachin averages in his 30's against South Africa in South Africa and around 40 against Pak in Pak. Not much better considering his career average especially playing on Indian pitches.

Pakistan and Sri Lanka pitches are just like Indian Pitches.. Remember consistancy is more imp.then one inings wonder

Buddy he scored centuries in Austraila, 194, in england, West indies, south africa. Yeah, all those were india pitches!!!! lol.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Viru

And he has scored 22 centuries including two triple hundreds. Talk of consistency!!!!

Neutral man - Sehwag has been as good as anyone can be all over the world , your stats are as crap as your name of being neutral

@India. My list of match winners over the last decade for India in order of achievement (in TESTS only).
However, he was given more chances because he had the support of Mumbai lobby. If you need stats, look up Statsguru on Cricinfo. Sachin from 1989 to 1991 Nov has just one century and was averaging in his 30's. If he was born anywhere but in Maharashtra, he would have played only 3-4 tests in his career.

You are right detee but he did not have the support that Sachin had. My point is, India has had some great cricketers. Why single out Sachin as the best. The best match winners India had since Sachin's debut and none more so than Sehwag. This is acknowledged by all the coaches of all countries.Kumble & Laxman are the other 2. Sachin probably stands 6th after Dravid and Bhajji. Only recently has Dravid lost his match winning or match saving ability.

This guy or gal must be nuts. You should be able to identify talent. Inzamam was considered much better in technique and infact Imran had commented that Inzamam will better Sachin. Look at the records and look what Imran himself admits. You cannot give chances to everyone and anyone. For test matches you need temperament. Every cricketer in India/abroad worth his salt will salute Sachin for his achievements. If you still want proof, god save you.

Boss comparisons should never be drawn like this. When Bill gates droped out of college and when he started MS in a garage no one knew that MS will be this huge. Get some life man.

Jaya, nobody denies the excellence of Sehwag, Kumble, Laxman, etc. But don't talk rubbish. 6th after Bhajji and Dravid!? Hahaha. Don't talk more and reveal your peanut size brain.

Selection is not based on numbers.Everyone in the team were in awe of Sachin when he debuted at the age of 16.His first century against Eng in Eng, saved india the match.The batting stars in the team then decided, he has bright future and look at him now.So the selectors were right.

How much credit will u attribute for a ODI macth against Bangaladesh, where Sachin makes 100 in first innings and India make 250-270 and India win comfortably? I would guess not much credit to it. Flash-back to 2007 world cup match, Ind vs Ban , India lost that resulted in ousting out of the world cup. India made around 190 and Ban chased it in about 49 overs. If Sachin made a century in that match, it would like the case I mentioned above. Bottomline, every century he made counts irrespective of oppenent,ground and first/second innings. You will know the value of the innings only if it never exists. But players,selectors/commentators know that value.Thats why they redgard him as the greatest player. Clueless ppl can keep barking that he cant win matches.
