What did he mean?
by Sree Kumar on Nov 09, 2010 04:38 PM

He says he fled from match fixers. And he fled from Pakistan!

Did he mean that Pak is full of match fixers?

It was Shoib Malik
by Sree Kumar on Nov 09, 2010 04:29 PM  | Hide replies

The reason why he got so scared was that the man who approached him was Shoib Malik. He threatened that he will send Sania to his room in the night. Did anyone see Sania's face recently on TV? Honestly she looks worse than Kareena Kapoor now. And he ran away!

Who wouldn't be scared!

Devdutt Nayak
bad state of affairs
by Devdutt Nayak on Nov 09, 2010 03:25 PM  | Hide replies

When Dawood's progeny marries with Miandad's progeny, then and there it is obvious that cricket in Pakistan, like everything else in controlled by the powerful few gangs - whether in Army uniform or named gangsters.

Haider clearly saw that PCB does not punish betters, Pak Govt does not pick up bookies, and Pak Police and Army protect gangs and terrorists.

This means that if a bookie really wants, he can assassinate anyone and be fully protected from any legal punishment.

The system will not save or support honest players.

This is the conclusion.

Haider has run away not because he is a coward, but because there is just nobody to fight for the principled people in Pakistan Cricket.

Even Imran Khan cannot do much to improve Pakistan.

Slightly different situation here - people outside BCCI get thrown around even if they are rich.

Of course, the lowest level of society, the bookies and gangsters are protected in India too, but someone other than players does pay.

In Pakistan, only the players pay, and the coach, if he objects, pays with his life - Bob Woolmer.

Even the Pak World cup winning Captain was out of the team because of PCB internal politics.

God save Pakistan.

Well Analysed Devdutt. The media too has puppets of D Gang so as not to expose this sorry state. Remember until this D gang was operating with Azar we were facing same issues in India too.

truth
by Pankaj Mehta on Nov 09, 2010 03:25 PM  | Hide replies

seems there is much truth in Haider's explanation.

He has reached to Team-Pakistan after several hurdles and obviously don't want want to sell his country, mother.

Hope match-fixing issue get earsed for forever from cricket.
