Martin does Proteas
by SarvamKrishnarpanam on Nov 08, 2010 05:31 PM  | Hide replies

Martin's spell was a taste of what we can expect in SA later this year...pity Indians..they are gonna have an awful time against Mornie and Dale and add the likes of Wayne Parnell or TsoTsobe..gosh...hope the likes for Dravid, Sach, VVS, Viru can save it for us..

New Zealand played with 9 men as 2 of their frontline bowlers got injured.. otherwise.. it would have been 1-0 for newzealand

If Ryder is a frontline bowler for New Zealand, then Sehwag is a frontline bowler for India.

INDIAN WIN CONVERTED TO A DRAW
by md krishnan on Nov 08, 2010 05:09 PM

I might not sound practical but its possible . All it takes to complete a match is 10 balls for 10 wickets this can happen in a matter of 3 or 5 overs also ( remember we were 20 for 5 in 7 overs) . So to call of a match with mutual concent of captains should be scrapped . Spectators pay to watch full days play they are deprived of cricket .Also if this is stopped captains can get more positive in declaring . Today we could have declared when we had total lead of 200 and bowled 40 overs and put pressure on NZ. Matter of winning or lossing is next as a No1 test side we should force winning results thats how Aus played when they were dominating test cricket around 5 yrs . Shows that India still dosent have attitude of a world no1 side may be ranking wise they are 1 just ranking is not good enough should portray champion skills in every sense of it . To sum it up good come back by india in second innings but poor captaincy and decision to bat that long......common india we expect more than just ranking

Laxman-A Legend
by Jatin Das on Nov 08, 2010 04:57 PM  | Hide replies

What a class..!!! Laxman again saved India from the jaws of defeat. Great play by Bhajji as well. But Laxman laid the foundation of the 5th day play. he again proved why is he called Ver Very Special. What a master class player is he? Still media shy & just lets his bat do the talk. Though he does not have many centuries to his name as Tendulkar's but he is of the same class as Sachin. He has been the gladiator since 2001 Eden Garden match against the mighty Aussies. His classy shots are wonderfull to watch.Salute to Laxman.

I entirely agree with Jatin. This VVS is not properly utilised by the selectors because he does not represent bombay or delhi.

vvs represents just himself... his quest for century today was cause of his slow batting which cost india the win...very very selfish laxman mostly plays for himself and sometime in doing so india win and he is given the credit like match against aussie which was won by ishant...

Expect the reverse for this sardarji, when expected to perform with the ball he wants the bat to talk, unpredicatable hot empty headed sardarji.

Ravindra, I had written to you in the morning - just wait and chill we will surely draw the test match. What a test match and what incredible batting by both VVS and HS. Congratulations to HS for the MoM award - he fully deserved it. And VVS..what can I say about him..he has literally stamped his class on the Indian hearts. We've shown why we are the best once again. Congratulations to the entire Indian fraternity of fans.

Kudos to NZ for playing well and raising the standards. Incredible batting and magnificient bowling in the second innings by Chris Martin and company. The Indians were just too good even when the chips were down.

All in All - a gripping Test Match! Thank you!

why do you have to say such offensive words against someone who has helped the side recover from crisis, and ensure a draw ? Do you have something personal against him ?If so, please keep it with you.
