Mr. Vadivelu. I support ur comment partially with the win in 2007 but I disagree ur statement regarding 1983 win. If u really watch those players at that time they all were playing for the country and not like current team which is only playing for money and not for the country. Kindly withdraw ur statment regarding the 1983 WC win.

Childish remarks

Mr. Bishen's comment that 2007 win was a fluke is very childish. Also, regarding the over whelming monetary & other benefits cricketers get nowadays , we are in a different economic scenario and the game itself has evolved into a different format. But one should also agree that nowadays all the teams really sweat it out like dangerously diving for a catch, saving a run, stretching themselves extraordinarily to make a run out or avoid a run out , etc., But let us Check with Our Bishen how many times he or his team mates dived at the boundaries to save a boundary. In those days, we have not seen many brillant catches or run outs or mega sixes like which nowadays we see. Common guys, lets accept that our current world cricketers' performaces are an absolute treat to watch than those cricketers who played all the 5 days for a result less drubbing game. Cheers Dhoni and team. We are with you! you have brought many laurels to our country.

well said ....imagine bedi bowling his donkey drops in t20 he would be thrashed for sixes every over ...cricket played in bedi's era was pathetic slow and of very poor quality.watch the old matches of 70's, 80's and to a certain extent 90's on videos .....todays cricketers are far too superior in all departments of the game...even tail enders bat well.Indian team of the seventies had only two or three class players and the rest were rubbish. So the few odd wins those days were definitly a fluke.Later on came the likes of kapil, tendulkar, azhar, kumble etc who contributed to genuine wins till date.

This is the only place where you can find Bishen Singh Bedi's hot balloons. Otherwise it just does not explain why one has to poke him in the rear and ask for an outcome? We all know Bishen talks only BS. B is for Bishen by the way. This guy is the greatest fluke even to be born, leave alone playing cricket. He is an annoying character who went on publicly to state that Dennis Lille, Jeff Thompson, and Tony Grieg tampered the ball. And was scared to repeat the same words. Would someone find so much time to issue what he said? I guess it is time waste.

Indian players

I totally disagree 2007 t20 won was fluke, but yes current form of the Indian players looks very murky, look at the bulging stomachs of yovraj and Rohit sharma, and most of the players looks very tired and dull in the feild.
Due to lengthy IPL match and night parties makes them even worsed,IPL match should be 15-20 days,. people sick of lenghy matches.
I think some of the players definitely needed a break of three months.

WC-07 was won due to efforts from unexpected players.............
by S Narain on May 17, 2010 12:58 PM

WC-07 was won due to efforts from unexpected players......For Dhoni..it was afluke

Captaincy to Dhoni was also fluke.....

Dhoni was given captaicy by corrput BCCI as a reward for getting rid of Dravid & Dada

In 2007 WC, Had Srisanth not taken catch on last ball of Misbah , we would not have won........All such players who won us 2007, were not given chance this time.....

It was not won due to Dhonis contribution..in that sense it was a fluke in the hand of Dhoni.......

Dhoni is Dhongi........ a clever natwar Lal

AUSTRALIAN Twenty20 captain Michael Clarke

I'm sure the selectors will sit down and have a look and if I'm not the right guy for No. 3 and the captaincy then they'll make that decision."

straight and simple thinking: let our sportsmen, sports admistrators and media moghuls learn it.

We have no reasons to complain. We simply do dot deserve to win with the present team. Zahir is non thinking pace bowler. Yosuf Pathan is proved fluke. The selector should also share the blame.
How they can they explian leaving out Uthappa and Manish Pandey.

Unfortunate comments from a legend from a player who has played for india. It is probably as they say age is catching up with him (as they say after 60 people again become a child)may be that is the impression I get from his categorical comments

Mr Bedi is a depressed person and for this reason he always sees the negative aspect and dark side of things. Wake up Mr Bedi. Show nationalism even when your country loses dont say anything bad if you dont have anything to say. Show some patriotism.

Yeah u r right. By using these type of remarks he seems to have lost his composer as he always done. He or let it be any body has no right to demean the 2007 T20 teams which has made the nation proud. Even the Great teams like Australia, SA r not able to win it after 3 cups. so for us 2007 victory means a lot and of course current team has performed pathetically in this world cup but that is combination of several factors including selection. we still don't know why Robin Uthappa and P Ojha didn't get selected.

Bedi is not suitable for ODI or T20 format
by Jomesh George on May 16, 2010 06:19 PM  | Hide replies

Bedi is useful for test cricket only as he is only a bowler who is below average in batting and fielding. It is unfair to underrate India's victory at 2007 T20WC.Almost every member of the team performed there and team had a unity but that is lacking now

Mr. Bedi it is not the way you are projecting.. actual reason for India triumph in 2007 was that they were underdogs, no one has taken them serious without Sachin Sourav & Rahul... they beat the world then.. now we have a star studed team of IPL which is pressed with looooooads of hopess thats why they are failed
