those 4 people you mentiond and vijay and jadega are all IPL stars. They will perform on flat Indian tracks with crowds backing them. Nowhere else!
Irfan is a genuine all-rounder, if some one can bowl at 100 and take some wickets and bat handy is suit to the current team as no one does in that slot. People say he was reduced speed and many stuff, but as long as if Irfan takes the wicket at an average economy rate and bats well its good for the team.
It’s not worth someone can bowl at 160 at a economy 8 and not much wickets will not have any benefit to the team.
See JK from South Africa bowls at 120 , and Watson many such examples….but its some one playing grudge over Irfan, its could be Dhoni or Srikanth or both …ha ha

If you bowl - definitely. May be he is not getting home made Idli and sambar and Imli ka chatni.
It is disappointing to see promising fast bowlers bowl gentle medium pacers after a few seasons.Irfan Pathan is another addition to the list of players like Ishant sharma,Munaf Patel,RP Singh . The reason is they are compromising pace for line and length. Indian fans want to see an aggressive fast bowler who will be feared by the opposition.Pathan was never a genuine fast bowler. He was a swing bowler but bowled at 135km/hr.But like his illustrious partners he too has cut pace and is bowling at 120km/hr.And when you look at Munaf Patel one gets the impression of a government employee forcibly going to office nowadays. The decline of RP Singh too has been depressing .It was a treat to watch him clean bowl kevin peterson and pollock with booming fast inswingers a couple of seasons ago.He too is a shadow of himself now.
Mohinder Amarnath once called the selectors a bunch of Jokers. It is the same even now. How many all rounders does Indian team has now? Irfan should have gone with the current Indian team. Instead he is not even in the two teams Srikant has selected. What does it prove ? Something very fishy indeed.

I dont think any mistake done by selectors regarding Ipathan selection for world cup. he was not there in the initial 30 probable list due to an injury. And after that his bowling was very poor in IPL (in terms of conceding runs), but he performed well with bat. Even unknown players were hitting him 6's. Selectors cant do anything since uthappa, oja, misra, ashwin all became heroes of their teams only after worldcup team selection. And when Sehwag injured, they went with an opener Vijay since he was the second best opening batsmen in IPL after sachin. The current failure is just because team combination and poor captaincy. harbajan should bowl in the middle overs and pathan should open the bowling with pacers.

India batsmen need some fast bowlers for practicing. So Umesh ( fastest indian in IPL) is a better choice than pathan

I am not against South Indian, and I am against them one who give first preference to his state instead of his Country.

All these Player U mentioned, has did something for India when India needs..
M.Vijay got the chance to prove something, but he lost it, he was selected at the expense of Sehwag....but he was nothing in front of Sehwag,....even Uthappa..
Selector did a mistake by not selecting Uthappa, he was in Ominous form, and he can handle short pitch ball well.

"TO AKRAM / MULKI and all the anti-South Indian Brigade" Mulki, I have no idea why you have learnt so many languages or what that has got to do with this, but I believe that proves nothing. Secondly, the very fact that you don't know that South Indians talk Hindi proves your ignorance. Secondly, it shows you and akram's lack of understanding of the game - the question most pertinent Mr. Akram is whether this time - the players have performed? It's a stupid logic to say that they performed when India needs - the time is now. And secondly, Murali was not selected at the "expense" Sehwag BUT as a replacement.
Incidentally, Uthappa is also a South Indian. Of course, if he had been selected and had not performed you idiots would have said, Vijay should have been sent. I think the biggest Panothis are you two and your ilk. Maybe if you guys stay off cricket, India will start winning.

But still we control selection, you north indians are slaves to south indians.

Is this how you (BIJIT & PANDA) reply when you don't have anything to substantiate? Indeed, the truth hurts - Just added yourselves to the panothis list. :-)

Flop debut from Murli. If he plays todays match against Sri Lanka then definetely India will lose.
