typical indian mentality
by D Tiwari on May 11, 2010 09:11 PM  | Hide replies

This article shows typical Indian mentality .. blame anything .. blame IPL ... for early exit of world cup ... but if we check the stats of the t20 worldcup players, nannes, watson, hussey, warner all are playing fine even when they played in IPL, jayawardhane, KP, gayle they all played In IPL and are playing well in t20 too .... so IPL would have affected there performance too .. but it didn't, so the issue is not with IPL .. but our young brigade is not able to handle the bouncers and there fielding and bowling is below average .. which is main reason of the debacle our capt too is responsible for taking wrong descsions on crucial matches .. like selecting jadeja, and batting second even after winning toss and when in the whole tournament hardly any team managed to chase the total

truly said, the same perception is mine, they could have played one all rounder like pathan, or any other player who is a seamer with a batting thing but they continue to be with the player who is not a regular spinner, ya he is a good player in indian or sub continent conditions but here on bouncy tracks these kind of so called spinner failed only bhajji is showing his colors coz he is a genuine spinner but no opne else.. so go for extra seamer or two...

and the indians are going to zimbabwe to play with unexperienced team, tho with due respect, i respect zimbabwe teams earnestness and fervour. kick out srikanth, yuvraj, r.jadeja and select the team on their merits purely.

Sania Mirza will have more brand equity than Shoaib Malik as he is facing one-year ban by PCB and will not be able to shoot any ad campaign during the period. “Therefore, the idea of pairing the two sport icons together in commercials seems an unlikely proposition at present,” says Alam.
However, Adidas of which Sania Mirza is the Indian brand ambassador cannot be signed as the same for the neighboring country since sports apparel and goods MNCs like Nike, Reebok, Puma and Adidas do not have a corporate office in Pakistan and they are all present through the franchisee route.
In India, the tennis ace has just two brands to endorse — Adidas and TVS Scooty as her brand value had taken a major hit due to her inconsistent form in recent times. her marriage controversy had further depleted her brand value and image with the advertisers.
Bollywood film stars having a huge fan following in Pakistan are also getting popular among the local brands there. Early this year, a Pakistani apparel brand, Firdaus Lawn, signed Kareena Kapoor and huge hoardings and outdoor ads have already been done.

IPL - Wanted show, so made flat/slow pitches for entertainment. All players got 'used' to play non-rising deliveries.... So is the result in WI - no camp, no prep....

NEW DELHI: ‘Our players are known for stealing singles.’ So was the punchline of PepsiCo Pakistan, which ran a print campaign to welcome Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik after their marriage.

Sania Mirza may no longer be a hot property with the Indian advertisers, but she’s all set to rock Pakistan’s advertising circle. From local companies such as Habib cooking oil, Malaysian Palm, Parker Fertilizers to big home-grown telecom companies such as Mobilink and Ufone GSM, all have jumped on congratulatory bandwagon welcoming Sania bhabhi with hoardings across the city.

Ad agencies in Pakistan are busy doing consumer research for their clients such as Habib Bank and Alfalah Bank to guage Sania’s acceptability as their brand ambassadors. Both Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik seem to be the flavor of the season for the Pakistani companies.
“The whole environment is very positive for the consumers, corporates and young minds.

This is a positive step by the corporates in Pakistan towards roping in Sania or both as their brand ambassador,” says Intezaar Siddiqui, creative director (copy), Orient Advertising.

“Around three of our clients are already doing consumer research,” says Abbas Alam, GM creative and planning for ad agency Brand Com, a sister concern of Lowe Worldwide. It has clients such as HSBC, Novartis, Qatar Airways among others.

What is the Excessive Cricket you are talking about,
First of all the Team Selection is wrong,
God knows why Ravindra jadeja is in the side for t20, In the Last Edition also he spoiled the crucial match against England

He does not know how to bat, and how can we stamp him as an all rounder

Yuvraj Singh who was in awful form recently has been selected, and we can still see the awful form in T20 WC

Look at Australia , they didnt even have space for Doug Bollinger in there team, that is the competitive ness in their Side

If we are gone by the real form , Robin Uthappa ,Pragyan Ojha, and one of Sourabh Tiwary or Ammbati Rayudu should have been in the team

None can Understand Dhoni's Logic in Defending and trusting Ravindara Jadeja

He alwasy tries to Support people who are not threat to his captaincy, This is not the way Captaincy Works

Rohit Sharma is Unnneccsarily Sidelined from years now, He should be present in all 3 formats of the game on a regular basis

No Team can ever win any tournmanet with this amount of politics in the minds of Captain and management

EXCELLENT.. The whole Truth is in your first paragraph.

Our dismal show has lot to do with the team selection and approach..

Team for thise shortest format o the game must be selected based on Form as out of Form players don't have time in midde to settle.. it's boom boom cricket and one gotta be on top of his game..

Well said, at the end of the day billion people are fooled bcos of this politics..

To add to this, Dhoni royally accepts that we are weak against short balls... boss that was case in last year WC also.. what u were doing all these days.. you guys were simiply running behind bipasha basus... whats happening in fast bowling dept... Zheer khan is not at all fit...he is just limping... why the hell he is playing in all the IPL matches... which one shud get the precedence.. IPL? or country?... We should have at least 5 bowlers who are hitting morethan 140 consistently to excel in international level.... what BCCI doing on this...Still dont understand how shewag gets injured before every big tournament...

we also need quality fast bowlers. Hence Umesh yadav should get a chance. At least he can bowl 140 and give bounces to opposition like the aussies do to the rest of the world.
