I think irfan was missed here. He batted well in IPL and was consistently bowling Yorkers in the slog overs. He is the best bet for India to be a good all rounder.

Sack K Srrikanth , he bought M Vijay, uhe should have choosed Uttappa or Kohli, stupid guy,
this k srikanth also did wrong selection india vs s africa test, truly selector making politica call s tagi for test, badrinath for test (s africa test) and now m vijay(useless guy) do not know to face the short pitch ball.
no expeience with r jadeja he is in , with p ojha or Vinay (selected) not in best 11.
Kick M. vijay, Zaheer, call back uthappa, kamaran khan.... for semis (if selected)

Why target Vijay? Yuvi should be dropped. Vijay played just 3 T20 matches so far. He deserves some more chance in T20. So far he has played only 3 Intl T20's.

What Rightly said, Look at the way he is getting out, a domsetic guy level, If frequent mistake is made and not correctly rectified, you mean to give more oppurtunity... M.Vijay, fit for Test only, by fluke he made 125 in IPL...with short boundary....
I feel D karthik i lot more better than this guy.

Ryan Harris, Douglas Bollinger, Nathan Hauritz are sitting outside. Thats the bench strength of Aussies. Whereas for India the bench strength is limited to the clowns. Gambling with Murali vijay against the best bowling attack (Aus) was not needed at all. We should be professional enough to rest seniors like Yuvraj, Zaheer if they dont perform well. Having a good bench strength would put pressure on playing XI. Now that a second rung team is sent to Zimbabwe, it wud add to confusion. If players like Jadeja perform well in that tour,we dont know if we should continue persisting with him in Indian team or not. Instead Indian selectors should clearly keep world cup 2011 in mind and then groom players in the coming tournaments.

If 125 is fluke then what about 78 against RCB.

No proper short selection, all boundary are 59 mtrs only only straight drive was within 63 mtrs. you can expect just lift the ball it will sail beyound boundary, Against 78, RCB bowling was poor by praveen overpitching and good batting track in Bangalore...
ALL M. vijay is not properguy resembles VVS laxman style, better play in TEST only...

You Shit RCB, If uthappam plays well the boundries are long and the bowling attack was good. If Vijay plays, blame it on shorter distance and poor bowling.

People said the same about sehwag sometime ago. That his is risky and runs on luck. :) Murali Vijay is talented. No doubt. But he has a long way to go.

srikanth is responsible for WC debacle.h shouldn't have selected m vijay as he is incapable of playing quality pace attack in fast pitches. His blistering knocks in ipl came mostly in Chennai, which is notorious for assisting only batsmen.Thank god srikant has not picked badrinath, otherwise we wouldn't have reached super8 also

by Prasad Duddu on May 11, 2010 12:19 PM

i dont think bhaji has to open...has a exp bowler he has to take wickets then bowling some dot balls. Its better we open with zaheer and nehra if requred let him bowl at 5th over itself.........let gambhir yuvraj dhoni feel they r the sr ppl who has to lead team from fron the blaming on raina or vijay or jadeja....we need to play well and win the tournaments then being kings in asian pitches...aus or eng is showing how to play t20 matches but we still cant learn.

Mr.RCB, Few years back there were around 9 Karnataka players repr

Mr.RCB, Few years back there were around 9 Karnataka players representing Indian team. Except Dravid & Kumble rest all are bull shit players from Karnataka. Srinath was good in patches. It was mainly becuase of Vishwanath who was the selector at that time. Now when couple of TN players represented Indian team you guys are fuming. I know your were in your moth*r's womb when Vishy was the selector. First get your cricket stats straight and then open your sewage mouth.

Also, those days T20 was not there. If Srinath, Venky and Joshi had played T20 they would have shit on there pants. You can't get carried away by the bad performance in T20. Joshi, Srinath & Venky played only 50 over and test matches those days.

You might, in that case recall how Gopinath unduly favoured Venkataraghavan in prefernce to E A S Prasanna

I think everybody will agree, M.Vijay performed well in IPL and technically sound in terms of shot selections and body language as well. Yes, he is not performing in ongoing T20 tournament and believe cannot be judged with few matches, he can be given chances if not, can be sacked.

Considering the facts, even sr. players are also under the dock, few to name Yuvi, Gambhi, Dhoni,Zaheer ...

Kumon Ali, If Srinath, Venky and Joshi had played T20 they would have shit on there pants.

Here we are talking about T20 and not about 50 over/test match performance.

Uthappa was not given enough opportunites. Better you go and check how many Intl T20 matches he has played. Vijays also deserves same no. of chances. You can't decide a players capability in just 3 T20 matches.

OUR SAD PERFORMANCE
by SRIDHAR RAGHUNATHA RAO on May 11, 2010 12:09 PM

After watching the performance of all participant teams in the T20 World Cup, not just batsmen, I donot see the seriouness and commitment in the face of our cricketers as a challenging task. May be our IPL cricket and it's remuneration has killed such instincts among our players
