Good replacement for praveen kumar. In the same manner, Selection committee can replace Dinesh karthik and M Vijay with other quality players. You can see the innings of Vijay and Karthik against the quality SA attack. They are totally clueless. Vijay scored Zero even in Superb form against SA. You can imagine what he is going to do when not in form. Karthik survived with great difficulty, dropped catches etc and even then couldn;t reach 10 .
These two are selected just because they are tamilians. They can be easily replaced with 2 quality players from the pool of Uthappa, Rayudu. S Tiwari, M tiwari. Pujara or Manish Pandeys.

Hello reddygaru, vijay and karthick are the most technically accomplished players, lets not be rational. i agree i love to see uthappa, rayudu etc, but if you know the game of cricket or have played the game, you will not talk like this.

Hi- Vijay needs some more time before playing for india. He needs to prove that he can play 20-20. Hitting sixes in one mtach shouldn;t be norm for getting selected to india. As far as Karthik, he got upteen no of chances in the name of backup keeper for Dhoni. I believe there are other players who are better than Karthik and who can become the backup for Dhoni.

or other thing is let Vijay and karthik face Australia and Pakisthan. I believe they will get self injured. That time, selection committee can replace these two.

Hello Reddy garu, Check below stats of Rohit sharma and verify how many chances he has got and how much he has scored. If rohit can get so many chances, Murali Vijay certainly deserves same number of chances.

Dravidfan - I agree that Rohit got lot of chances. He also needs to be shown out the door from indian team. Your logic was not correct. You can't make another mistake just because you made one mistake.

Also tell us how many time did Rohit Sharma bat up the order. He is even batted at No8. New comers like Virat Kohli was given a permanent No 3 slot in ODIs. There is something wrong on the part of Dhoni also.

Reddy, You loser Deccan chargers fan. Rayudu is a third grade player from ICL. First ask Rayudu to play some cricketing shorts like M Vijay. We all know how murali vijay hit sixes against warne's rajastan team, sixes against kumble's RCb. If your memory is so bad check in the youtube for the sixes he hit against kumble & warne. The sixes against Zaheer & RP singh etc.. Also, we remember how Vijay played the debut test against aussies in australia.

Hitting sizes on flat track is a child's play. YOu take the total number of runs scored that day which is about 500 runs in 40 overs. That itself shows where and when Vijay can shine. Taking him into to the team with one dummy performance is wrong

Dravidfan - Vijay needs some grooming before he can play for india. He is one of the prospects. But there are far better players than him. These players should be given the opportunity rather than Vijay.

At the moment, VJ is a better bet than Rayudu, although Rayudu is a proven player.
Fearless players like Rayudu need to join the good ones - VJ and others. The fearlessness quotient is good - look at Kevin Peterson! Robin Uthappa or CK Nayudu style hitting types would help...
In any case, the guy that bats well under pressure and delivers @crunch time, is more valuable than someone that plays for personal interests only...e.g. Yuvraj's big-hitting is good but he seems more happier when he gets a 50/100 than team objectives.
I had replied in these forums that Umesh Yadav has the makings of a genuine fast bowler. This is what India needs more and a fast-bowling all-rounder.
Pragyan Ojha is a better bet for spin alone for his bowling virtues. Couple of genuine allrounders will tilt the balance against SA, OZ and other teams.....

Both vijay & karhtik are not good enough to face 140kmph balls ,they are good in slow pitch & slow balls

Are you Tirumalasetti Suman? BTW, i am not Bodapati Sumanth
It is a pity that Srikant and Dhoni are doing injustice to Irfan Pathan, and as a result India will pay heavily in the long run. BCCI run by non-experts in criket do not know how to nurture a great player. Like this we shall lose one by one.

and gives up more runs......he had his chances and didnt prove himself after the initial promise he showed

by aditya chandak on May 06, 2010 11:28 PM
because Yadav bowls at 140 (highest around 148)consistently unlike Irfan who is unable to touch 130s. We need a bowler not an allrounder. If top 7 batsmen cant bat, then dont expect no 8 to bat as well.

just give him 1 yr in international cricket and his speed will come to 120s. Just like ishant sharma and munaf patel
Re: Re: Irfan Pathan

Yadav is most probably the fastest bowler we have. In his IPL match he easily hit 150. This is good to support such bowlers over likes of irfans and munafs

i sincerely hope piyush chawla n rohit sharma get injured. Then may be selectors will look at players like ojha and other batsmen.
Maybe he was injured already in the last game and that is the reason he bowled only 1 over.. If this is the reason, this again proves like last T20 WC that injured players are selected when there are other Indian players who could have been given an opportunity
Can only replace him.. he may have lost his shine as a bowler but is a great all rounder... he is certainly IN unless Dhoni still wants his chaplus langotia yaar in RP Singh

Umesh Yadav can develop into a superb bowler if encouraged. He has all needed qualities to be a great fast bowler, even a genuine fast one.
