the prev. selector was vengsarkar...tho he used to select powar, but the selections he made like ishant, giving rest to sehwag and then getting him back, recalling raina, giving rest to irfan and then recalling for 2007 20-20 world cup all these policies paid off...it was vengsarkar's work that paid off during srikanth's time...we need an astute cricketer like colonel(vengsarkar) like say mohinder amarnath as national selector and then indian team will touch greater heights...i don't think srikanth's parochial atttitude of selecting tamilians like badrinath, vijay, kartik etc irrespective of their non performance will do any wonders for indian team as a whole.

yes srikanth is including only TN players.

In a cricket team = 11 players
TN players yesterday = 2 players

Balance, 11 - 2 = 9 players

According to people like forrest gump and bhratpremi, these 9 players are coming from mars.

name one tamilian batsman who averages more than 30 in Test cricket and one who has taken more than 200 wickets...you will get the answer why people are against chennai selections.

You mean to say if Mumbai did not had any batsman averaging over 30 when Sachin was selected, then Selection of Sachin was wrong !!??

Generalizing on Region and Religion is a taliban and indian village mentality. I request you to see the talent and then appreciate people. Even if Murli Vijay was from Andamn, he should be in the Indian team coz he has talent man, cant u see the way he plays. are u blind!?

Sadagoppan Ramesh averaged 38 in Tests; scored 1367 runs. 2 100s and 8 50s. This is higher than most Bombay batsmen like Suru Nayak, Chandrakanth Pandit, etc.

Now u came to point.. The previous selectors completely ignored TN players for more than a decade.. Once thr were 8 players frm karnatake like dodda ganesh, johnson, baradwaaj, sujith somasundar etc. Among them, only Dravid shined.. All others are crap.. It will happen forever.. Even agarkar got numerous comebacks during vengsarkar's regime.. Powar got enough chances.. When Badri dint perform, he was dropped from ODI squad.. Whats wrong in giving chance to a player who performs well in domestic?? See the stats and then come to argue..

Just because Vijay failed to scored many are immediately after his selection. The previous game he was the top scorer.
