Because Sachin Tendulkar is a symbol of hope, complete dedication to ones profession, hard work, humbleness despite greatness, and patriotism and an inspiration to people from all walks of life.

Right conclusion, but wrong logic.
Do you mean to say that like Obama-who did not deserve Nobel--Sachin should also get Bharat Ratna? It only means that despite not deserving the award Sachin should be given the award?
I believe this prestigious honour should be given to the person who has done wonders for the welfare of poor people in a country .To a person who has to great extent remove the poor villages , remove poverty . If you see mumbai and go through the kurla ghatkpoar area , it is same from last many years neither government did anything nor any celebreity. Its not hard to remove the dirty villages but what action celeb people took . so why tendulkar deserves bhary ratna . Also cricket wise how many times sachin tendular has helped india to win a major major tournament . if person plays 20 years he will get records
I donot think tendulkar deserves this honour to whatever he feels
