I wanna Ask u RD you are sure that A Mendis will play?
by Senthil on Jun 29, 2010 11:03 AM  | Hide replies

I pity of ur Cricket knowledge. I don't think A Mendis is going to be in the squad itself even if he is there he won't be there with playing Eleven unless SRL play with 3 spinners.

M Muralidharan and R Hearth are the 2 front line spinners for SRL and A Mendis might be left out since Indians are figured out him very well.

Just wait for SRL Squad.

mendis's mystry is history, as most of the teams have already broken thru his spells. but only the results of the matches will tell whether we indians have done that. i think india will again manage to provide a decent performance in this tour due to the presence of quality players like dravid, sachin, vvs...etc. or else we have all seen the "young" team and their bench strength in zimbabwe.

all these talks before a before is all well known. out of no where dravid, vvs, jump on to the bandwagon of test cricket.... its high time they call it a day and gave chance to the rohit, r.jadeja, pandey, kholi, pujara, vijay, uttappa, etc. also high time sachin at the age of 37yrs retires. so altogether three players have over stayed.

by Salil on Jun 29, 2010 05:07 AM  | Hide replies

...directly jumped to the discussion board (like me)without even reading what dravid has to say and rather more interested in what readers have to say ?

a question
what is boring to watch: Dravids test inning OR Dravids boring nice comments?

by the way i want dravid in the team, though he is boring to watch we need him...his importance in tests is as good as sachin..

dravid is not only boring.. he is now a nuisance. selectors dont know how to drop him or vvs. sachin seems to be playing as a govt. employee.

And u r commenting like an Idi0t. All these guys are stalwarts and everybody has seen the bench strength of Indian batting. Not a single so called young player can play chest rising delivery, forget about quality pace on bouncy tracks. Your Favorite R.Jadeja was not even able to touch a single ball from off color shoaib and Malinga. Think about Tait, Bond, Steyn,Bollinger and Morkel on green top wickets.
Guys like you just comment without even thinking, whom they are uttering about. You r nuts with zero cricketing knowledge.

Please appoint Ganguly, Kumble and Ravi Shastri as selectors
by sreenivasulu reddy on Jun 29, 2010 03:06 AM  | Hide replies

believe it is better to remove the present selection panel and replace them with Ganguly, Kumble and Ravi Shastri. These three will definitely help to select good youngsters to fill the shoes of great trio of all the time (Sachin, Dravid and Laxman). The present committee is too biased and they don;t have much international exposure. Also they are not superstars who contributed to victories etc. They are only interested in satisying their regional feelings. One will select only Tamil Nadu players as if they are legends. really don't understand the selection criteria. Don;t know why Vijay Murali when he failed so miserably for last one year. Also they are players who deserve selection and they are not getting the opportunities.

sreeni i agree with your thoughts..this is completely regional feeling from chika..i wonder why wridhhiman saha was selected whe karthik issuch a good player..and murali vijay is a complete failure and he is there in the team just bcoz of chika..thanks god his son is not playing well..if he scores 50 then sooner we can see him playing in ODI

Sreenivasulu, watch cricket other than IPL also before commenting. Vijay's selection was based on performance in domestic cricket. Look at domestic cricket stats for last year in case you have seen the matches.

Jay, i agree that vijay is a better test player than a ODI player, but the standard of domestic cricket is so low that it can never be a bench mark for selection. Our domestic superstars get ruthlessly exposed when confronted with international bowling.

Couldn't find innings by innings score but in his IPL career he has played 20 innings and scored 552 runs at an average of 32.47 and strike rate of 115 with highest score being 68.

With Dravid back in the team performing his usual role of borinator with 10 runs scored every 100 balls.. we are not ready for him. Boring test match becomes pathetic when he comes to bat. Follow ons convert to tame draws if he plays. I pray he gets out asap for the spirit of the game

That's not true. He's the one among the best batsmen to watch in world cricket. I dont understand how anyone can find him boring in test cricket, he paces his innings very well. I cannot understand how people complain about the fab four, they have been the pillars of Indian cricket for more than a decade in all the formats of game. They won matches individually for india on different soils in different conditions. Why drop when they doing good? What happened in Zimbambwe when India fielded a team filled with youngsters and rookies. We lost miserably. Im not totally against injecting young blood, but I believe it should be a blend of both. So that experienced players can guide the younger ones and see the team through.

dhobi is more boring than dravid.
dhobi strike rate in T20 is just hundred lowast among all batsman with no 50 & no match winning inning in last 26 matces he played. Infact his slow batting cost india 6-7 matches.
He should leave before great dravid
