Again the same sad story.... continued
by soco on Jun 27, 2010 02:41 PM

Time and again , Yuraj has failed to the expectation of being a test player,no doubt he is an excellenet ODI and T20 player

If these players can think of India then their selfishness then ... they should take the suggestion from the cricket experts and stop being a disgrace to the country.

If yuraj can see this forum.. i humbly request him to stop being selfish... brother your being part of test team... has never been successful not because you were out of form ... so also you were in form...

Think of India , not of personnel gain....
tommorrow the cricket history shuld not blame for your kind of cricketers for selfish desires.

Take the decision yourself and withdraw your name .... that would be a great sacrifice for the nation

if however you feel that your good for any form of cricket then FIRST PLAY TEST CRICKET AT NATIONAL LEVEL .... show your eligibility and then com.

All these guys should hv been in the team.
Yuvraj, Sreesanth & Ishant Sharma dont deserve to be in the team.

Chance for Chateshwar Pujar
by Ganesh NSEAP on Jun 27, 2010 12:01 PM  | Hide replies

Yuvaraj is already crossed 30 years. I don't think he will establish himself as a test batsman. Should give opportunity for Chateshwar Pujar now, otherwise when sachin, rahul, laxam retire from test cricket...there will be big gap in the stability. Also it is better to identify potential fast bowlers who are below 20 years of age..enough time to groom them

for all those who want vijay in team
by SoniaKaBaap on Jun 27, 2010 11:49 AM  | Hide replies

wat abt his performance in recent tournaments in zimbabwe?? please go through the posts in rediff's blogs and then comment then u can understand the anger of bloggers.. seems all these people who want him in team are from Tn n no doubt, u people tend to behave this way..
If only performance was the sole criterion then why u tend to forget Robin, Manish, Vinaykumar, Pujara, Rahane??
plz tell ur srikkanth to select his house-helper so that he can try his luck in team india..

Dude.. Bloggers always critisize.. Go and see the hatred messages on Sachin in the same rediff blogs and see.. I agree Vijay was not in form in ODIs.. But u cant deny a man in form in domestic matches that easily.. Even Virat Kohli was in poor form in SL series and scored runs very slowly in Zim series.. It doesnt mean we shd drop him. .A potential is a potential and we can wait for stats to match it..

Yuvraj ahead of Badrinath?
by Bhaskar N on Jun 27, 2010 11:10 AM  | Hide replies

Selecting Yuvraj ahead of good test match players is a mere politics.May be someone from congress or some big wigs would have influenced.People say TamilNadu players are given preference this might be correct but at the same time TamilNadu players were ignored inspite of their good performance.
Badani : scored 50 against Australia in Australia with an injured finger but wasnt selected after that.
Ramesh: Scored 50 against australia in a practise match but never played any match in that tournament or was selected after that.
Badrinath: Very good test player, scored 50 in his last match against South Africa at a difficult batting condition but now he is ignored.
Pujara deserves a place not Yuvraj.
Raina and Yuvraj are good players of shorter format not test matches.

I dono what s the fuss with Robin.. He played very well in IPL.. But look his domestic records and then speak.. Manish s a ok player with good shots but no technique.. Pujara n Rahane are waiting in the wings for long time.. May be they need to prove more in A team tours and IPL that they can handle pressure well.. But they deserve chances thru their consistent performances..

Vinay s sure to get chances in ODIs..

Yuvraj

Yuvraj Singh getting into the squad ahead of Pujara or Rahane is a shocker. Why do we need domestic tournaments like Ranji Trophy and 'A' Tours when heavy run getters in these tournaments do not have a chance to make it to the Indian Team because the selectors go by reputation rather than performance.

agreed. its not the domestic or a tour performance that counts. what counts is who ur sponsors r n proximity with ur capt.

yuv is fit only for t20 or odi. even in odi he was dropped, but got selected for tests. funniest selection.

Squad for tests
by rocky on Jun 27, 2010 07:53 AM  | Hide replies

m.vijay is much better player than he has been in the past two tournaments. he has a decent avg. in test having played only 5 tests and 7innings.

he deserved his chances also. his was revelation in the recent ipl3, scoring a century and two half centuries and being in the top5 batsmen. he was one of the reasons Csk won the ipl title. when parthiv was its opener csk has less chance and after m.vijay became its opener the team started winning... think about it.
