All those selected are useless, none of the bowlers especially fast bowlers should not be playing even for zimbambwe team. All the talented young indins are thrown out at the group level (before Ranji), due to politics and corruption. Otherwise how else we can explain such a pathetic team which cant bat raising deliveries and bowl real fast bowling. Even countries like Srilanka and Pakistan whose cricket boards are bankrupt and who have lesser cricket base than India and who have similar body structure to Indians produce such exceptional fast bowlers.
If ccorruption is rooted out from Cricket, then India can easily produce more than 100 Tendulkars and Lara's and more than 100 Dennis Lillee's and Shane Bond's.
Yuvi with no hands and no legs is far better than Ashwin.Not sure why Ashwin got selected to the team. Is it because he is from Tamil Nadu and is a Tamil Brahmin? What role he is going to play for india? He is not a All Rounder or a bowler. I agree he is tall and that doesn;t mean he needs to selected to indian team. instead of looking at Tamil Players like Ashwin, Gandpathy, selectors need to look into players like Rayudu who is touted as a good replacement as a Batsman. There are far better players than Ashwin. Why players like Pujara, Uthappa, Pandey, Dhawan, M tiwari are not getting the opportunities?

Ashwin is a spinner and he is inline as an alternative spinner inline to Ojha & Mishra.He may not be a big wicket takin bowler but is a tight bowler like Anil Kumble. Besides Harbhajan is not in a great form either.
Next he is a handy batsman aswell though that is not the reason he has been inducted in the squad.
He has done well in domestics, IPL and the lone ODI debut.

U mean to say that no player frrom the selectors region must be selected and if so, should perform like a super human?? Even Viru, Bhajji and Yuvi who were best products of Dada were given so many chances in their career.. If u look into their performances over the period, there are so many low scores and bad forms inspite of which they were persisted.. Simply dont brag ur words..

Yoo Kumar, I have a question for you, are you Indian? if yes why you hate your fellow countrymen? I have been reading replies for some time, for some reason you have grudge and/or vengeance against your countrymen specially Tamil Community, Why is that bud? Without trying someone at the international level how will you know their potential, Rohit Sharma played 43 ODIs with an Avg of 22 with 4 fifties before making 2 centuries, why you are not questioning that? Unfortunately you can play only 11 players and select 15, without giving them a chance to prove how can you rule them out? How can you be so ignorant and just reject one particular community or ethnicity? If USA profiles some ethnic background you say USA is making racial discrimination and all of western countries are doing that, now you are also doing the same mistake. Give a chance to every player who has potential, regardless of his color, cast, religion if he doesn’t perform kick them out. No one can live in their past glory. If you are assigned some work by your today and say he was so happy with it, can you just live with that past glory? The way things are going India is not going to be in final four of 2011. They should have a right combination going by now. 7-8 month may be too little of a period to prepare for such an important tournament.

you make no sense. Do you follow Indian domestic cricket, really. PLease check stats before commenting. The top three domestic teams in INdia are Delhi, Mumbai, UP & TN. Check stats player performance and then talk. TN has been consistently finishing in the Semi or final of almost all events.
PLease don't use your 20-20 wisdom for team selection

Rangan - The list is too big. You can go to cricinfo and you can pull the stastics based on each state. You will atleast 30 players whose stats are far better than Ashwin

bedi is right that yuv need to take his omission as a welcome break. but ironically the break that yuv already got during the zimbabwe tour wasnt utilised properly except for doing ramp show n partying. so no chance of yuv coming back early into ind team.
i think parthiv deserves a better chance than the flop dinesh karthik. had it not been srikanth, karthik wudnt hv been in the team. parthiv is much better keepr n bat than karthik n shud b in the team
but y yogi is angry. merely bcoz his son is dropped. where was his anger when his son yuv is doing flop show during the whole year. when he was giving more time in pub than on ckt fields. yog shud b slapped for his behaviour. it was good that the then selectors didnt gv chances to this crazy so-called cktr yograj.
