When you can drop Rahul Dravid, viru, murali vijay,VVS Laxman etc...why not yuvraj? He definitely needs a break.I dunno why his father behaved like that..Is that typical punjabi style of welcoming someone into their homes??

It is "attitude"; absence of ability to face the truth; past records are no reason for selection in the face of poor form. Yuvraj has become too fat (typically a result of poor food habits??!) which is affecting performance!! Will he practice or give time for more ads? Let's see!

Selection has been a little crazy.
by Balaji Krishnamurthy on Jun 08, 2010 10:24 PM

The selection in recent times has been strange. The way the bowlers are being chopped and changed is not good for stability. Last year Munaf Patel was axed after a pretty good performance in New Zealand. The selection for the Zimbabwe series was just as strange. Agreed Zaheer, Nehra and Harbhajan needed rest from a heavy workload, but the least that could have been done is put in RP Singh, Ishant Sharma, Sreesanth and Munaf Patel in the squad. It almost looks as if the selectors are just pulling names out of hats. We are moving towards a World Cup. This is not the time to experiment wholesale. As for Tamil Nadu players being selected, the bias has always been there. The chairman of selectors by default tends to favour players from their state. So to single out Srikanth is not fair. By the way, this is also the man who has backed up Yuvraj for quite some time. Anyway to me cricket is not worth seeing or commenting after Laxman, Dravid and Tendulkar leave the scene.

Rest Periods for Cricketer
by RAKESH JAIN on Jun 08, 2010 10:02 PM  | Hide replies

ICC or BCCI should make some mandates on days of cricket playing for cricketers ballers vs batsman. Restrictions should be based on hours in the field. Hours should be based on age and health factors because it is more a physical sport rather than mental. Like we the office going going people rest for 96 days as saturdays and sundays, 10 Government holidays, 30 PL, 10 Sick. Total is 146 days rest out of 365 days in a year.

The whole idea is physical stamina increases upto certain age and than started decreasing after a certain age. Every individual has different stamina factors.

I hope players should think on these lines as well as authorities should make some mandates

Welcome Break!!!
by Wonder Fool on Jun 08, 2010 10:02 PM  | Hide replies

A welcome break for Yuvraj to attend more parties & fashion shows. Walking on the ramp is much easier than sweating on the field. Also there are speculation that Yuvraj has been offered 'Swayamvar-Season 3' by NDTV Imagine.Hence it is a welcome break.

Once Team India's Vice Captain, today he has completely lost focus on cricket. No form, no fitness...looks like another Vinod Kambli in making who ruined his own career despite having tremendous potential.

indian team without yuvraj is like a ship without an anchor , he is the best batsman in one day and 20 20, how many indian batsman and dhoni have hit 6 sixes in six balls, u need a special talent for that, am sure with time yuvi will be back , he is the backbone of the team

Dear Sidhu,
I know you are feeling bad becoz u r another Punjabi. Think Country ahead of State and Caste. Yuvi needs to think himself about his life style. There are many talent but only those talent lasts long who is focussed and hard working. Yuvi is free now to go to BARS and outside the House without informing anyone...He can do this all through life now. Also, Just becouse he hitted 6 sixes in 6 balls doesnt mean he is permanent. What he did with the own state team in IPL this session is not hidden and that too because of Money. He let the state down becaouse of money. Still men like SIDHU is favouring him.

Good . Yuvi is axed. It is the limit. Merely having talent is not sufficient. There is no point in talent if it is not put to use. Anyway these days his concentration is more on acting. This should serve as a lesson to Dhoni and others as well. Honestly India is yet to get substitutes for those super 5. Rahul, VVS,Sachin, Saurav and Anil. It may be a long long time till the team gets another illustrious bunch like that.
