dhoni will regain his no. 1 spot soon. dhoni and hussey are top 2 players in odi format. It is not as if hussey got it by playing better than dhoni. I agree he is a very good odi player but this time he got it not by overtaking dhoni by giving better performance. but only because dhoni did not play that he lost points, i.e. he did not lose those points by playing badly. If dhoni had played this series he would still be no. 1.
At least from next time don't jump like Monkey in the batting order according to the situation and face some real tough situation and you will be deserve to be No.1 but not jumping to no.3 in batting order when Openers given a solid platform and going down the order when Wickets falls
Dhoni doesn't deserve even to be no 2. Mike hussey is much better than him. There are also other better batsmen at no 3&4 like ab de villiers and sachin tendulkar.
1)All these young batsmen should be made to practice fast bouncy bowling for a couple of months in the NCA. Most of them have good skills but have no experience playing on fast pitches because they have played on flat indian pitches during the domestic cricket season.This will ensure a good bench strength of playaers who can play on every kind of pitches.
2)And team should be provided with a fulltime fast bowling consultant becos coach gary has been pretty ordinary and because he was a bastman, he can give only batting advice.
3)And the board should provide players adequate rest between tournaments and also ensure that they are fully fit before selecting them in the squad for major tournaments, thereby avoiding fiascos like the T20WC when many players were semi fit.
