I got some interesting stats...... Before 11 years in 1999 Sachin Tendulkar scored 124* in Sri Lanka soil, it was his 68th test match & 19th hundred. After 11 years yesterday he scored 48th test hundred in his 168th test match. Nice one!!

As for me, greatest is one who have more control than anybody else over things he does in his profession. Having peaks here and there does not make someone greatest.
Sachin has played all forms of the game, cricket and excelled in all of them, hence he is the greatest batsman ever.
he averages morethan 60 wheneven India wins / draws. Averages less than 39, whenever India looses. Amazing dominance in Indian cricket. it proves he is very vital to win matches. Others have to chip in and contribute better whenever Sachin gets out early. Afterall, it is 11 men game.

erst einmal, u need bowlers 2 win test matches
also u got hoisted on your own petard, the stats u quote show clearly that Sachin is not as good when the pitch is tuff. No back-2-the-wall heroics like VVS's 281.
No wonder experts don't rate any of his innings in the all-time great list.

wait , lets see VVS's 281 is one inning. How many such innings indian batsmen have played ? Tendy has played such innings, only problem was he didnt have support.
The porkistan match in chennai comes to mind, The aussie ODI where he scored 50% runs The perth test during 1991-92 The england test where in he singlehandedly saved the match from a certain defeat.
There are probably many more that I cannot recollect, but they are there.

Also : Gavaskar sings praises of tendy virtually everytime.. I think i will trust the judegment of the great gavaskar better than a NOBODY like yourself.

- If he scores 100, you say its for records (as if it doesn't add to team total and doesn't save the team from another embrasement) - If he gets out w/o getting 100, you call him irresponsible, not playing when team needs most (like he got criized for getting out at 85 in 1st test) - If he doesn't get past 50, you call him a failure & ask for immediate retirement - If the match is drawn, you say he doesn't score to win!!! (as if loosing a match is better than a draw!!) - when Sehwag gets out at 99, you call it courageous/bold shot (when infect its irresponsible) but when SRT gets out even at 150 , we call him not leading from front. - people call him selfish & changed style to prolong the career, as he is not as classy as he was in his prime!! (so waht, he is still better than all other Indian batsmen & has better strike rate than other batsman & deserves a place in the team based on current performance only & not based on reputation) - If he scores, it saves the team first & then record is added as statistics!! (is there a way by which a player can contribute to the team heavily without achieving a record!!!)

Bakwaas everybody knows SRT plays for records...... nothing else he is a panuati.. a curse india vl never win a world cup with him being in the team.. better he retires early

Tell you what you score 20 runs against sri lanka bowlers on that so called "docile" pitch and I will take back my words.
You know why you wont be able to score the 20 runs ? Because you are not good enough to get into the ground as the ground mali, leave alone as a player
Sachin picks the matches he plays for ODI's. He needs to do it for Test matches also. Now a days he seems to have lost interest especially playing against srilanka or bangladesh in subcontinent pitches. He should only look for challenging matches away from subcontinent.
