Don't compare individuals, look at the bigger picture of it, its fine he scored a double century on another flat wicket against a week and new looking bowling attact with lots of unnecessary LBW decisions in his favour but despite of everything, lots of dearly congratulations to him.
But the ultimate part is that its all looking aimless if you are not going to produce a result from any of such efforts, on indidual part, it is all looking great on such flat pitches to make records, it is always good to see them play on such flat sub continent wickets, that how they can draw many more matches because their bowlers are not able to take twenty wickets, and india is always defensive right from the start of this test match, despite of the fact that that series is 1-0 so it is more about the intent and how much dedicated to your country instead of yourself.

Richa, why people have problem against Sachin scoring century on flat pitches. When Sehwag or Dhobi score a century on flat pitches people say "Wow Sehwag played very good inning".

well it doesn't matter who is scoring century or double centuries either it is sehwag, sachin, or even sangakara, but alteast produce results and give something to game, produce some result oriented performances and don't concentrate only on individuals thats what all happening in the subcontinent, lack of professionalism.

Yeah but lack of result is not Sachin's fault. And by scoring double century he along with Sehwag and Raina helped India to avoid defeat. So sometimes lack of result is better than a loss.
The look on Sachin's face each time he achieves a personal milestone is of relief. not of excitement or passion. Its more like "Ah.... I have got there..!!! thank god..!!!" And more often than not, he gets out soon. Just like today. 203...and gone.

People point out that i am a Sachin basher, i am not really, but it has to be said that the more he scores hundreds and 200s in the first innings, the more the question marks over his ability to finish things off? I barely remember any fourth innings score in 20 years except chennai 2008, that can be called matchwinning. Viru, on the other hand, in 9 years has made more difference. Of course, sachin may score another 500 runs, another 10 test hundreds, set records etc, but we are talking of team INDIA here? Of what use are these records? What is needed is to win matches to ensure our No1 slot, and to win world cups. Our cricket crazy population has got just one cup in 83, they deserve far more, and for that they need people who are labelled as GOD to score in crucial mathces, and not just on flat pitches on day 2, against the likes of randiv or mendis

Sandeep Kumar ...Why dont u do the R&D before conclusion...How many tests are played till now , How many fetched Win/loose results...?? And if u think abt Ind then that number is way low(Even before SRT time)..If u asking whts the use of these runs ?It saved an innings defeat from Lanka..When one team makes 600 plus runs chances are it wins or draw ...Now did u want Ind to loose the match then right, SRT innings are useless..But i see otherwise so this was great inning..U like it or not..In the histroy of cricket this is another good innings...And pal in that book your comment has no place(So do mine but atleast i am positive ). With your logic Suresh's debut ton is also waste...He also made a debut ton record ..only ninth Indian ...So is it waste..?? Had we lost this test So this series team Ind would have slipped further from No1 Slot..Did u want that..?? If u dont digest someone's Godly position its your problem but i hope atleast cricket point of view you would agree that every single run is important every single wkt , every single catch taken is important..and someone is doing that from decades..You call it record ..I call it untiring service to his team...

CM, just take a look at his first 10 tests. in spite of doing nothing extraordinary he was allowed to continue playing. if he was playing in australia he would have been thrown out after the first 3-4 tests and never got another chance again.
