THATS THE GREAT SACHIN
by SURYAPRAKASH TATA on Jul 31, 2010 11:48 AM

THATS the greatness of Sachin, the way he nurtures the young talent, guides them to be perfectionists, and do well for the country. what else a young player expect from his seniors. Great going sachin, apart from scoring you allows ur partener to get runs. great going. long live sachin. u 10 years less than ur age, 37 means 27 for me and u can play another decade easily. god bless u.

greatest..................
by LG on Jul 30, 2010 09:19 AM

As for me, greatest is one who have more control than anybody else over things he does in his profession. Having peaks here and there does not make someone greatest.

Sachin has played all forms of the game, cricket and excelled in all of them, hence he is the greatest batsman ever.

Crappy Pitch!!Gr8 for both teams bad for test cricket
by Arvind Aravindanatham on Jul 30, 2010 01:52 AM

This fightback mite help India in the next match against a bowling attack with limited capabilities like Sri Lanka, but this game is done. If cricket boards kept preparing lifeless wickets for the batsmen in Test matches, Test cricket will surely suffer. Lifeless tracks mite suit other formats like T20 but they are recipe for disaster if they are considered for Test cricket. Test cricket should be competition between bat and bowl, not bat and bat with bowlers completing the mere formalities of the game.

Sachin

Ppl just think.
How much credit will u attribute for a ODI macth against Bangaladesh,
where Sachin makes 100 in first innings and India make 250-270 and
India win comfortably?
I would guess not much credit to it.
Flash-back to 2007 world cup match, Ind vs Ban , India lost
that resulted in ousting out of the world cup.
India made around 190 and Ban chased it in about 49 overs.
If Sachin made a century in that match, it would like the case
I mentioned above.
Bottomline, every century he made counts irrespective of
oppenent, ground and first/second innings. You will know the value of the
innings only if it never exists.
But players,selectors/commentators know that value.Thats why they
redgard him as the greatest player.
Clueless ppl can keep barking that he cant win matches.

Why get so defensive for great Sachin ?
He's awesome, awesome and awesome.

A champion cricketer with no ego problems. He played his natural game and contributed immensely under all captains.. under Kapil, Vengsarkar, Srikkanth, Shastri, Azhar, Ganguly, Dhoni - all this because he is a team player and exceptionally talented player.

donot under estimate rahul and laxman
by kotha sundeep on Jul 29, 2010 11:10 PM

its test cricket, test is diffrent from one day or 20-20. what about yuvaraj, vijay, and parthiv and so on,,, they had chances too. one good pitch for batting shall not tell their talent. laxman had bad decision going against him. how about last test laxman performance. let seniors and young talent play tests, hope we get the good cricket to watch then.

To immediately remove 2 experienced middle order batsmen with youngsters can prove fatal. Alhough I agree to a certain extent bench strength should be built and youngsters should be groomed with help of experienced players and be given a chance in dead rubber tests. Laxman and Dravid have at least 2 years of cricket left in them, although I'm also disappointed that they should've performed on such a lifeless track. They have served Indian cricket well they should'nt be written off by bad performance in 1 innings. They'll surely comeback in the next match.

Too late for Raina for his test debut

I don't understand, why Raina was kept out of test cricket so long and why the likes of Laxman and Rahul Dravid are included in the test team continuously.

what is the fun in discussion criket? Everybody has an opinion and noboy wants to back down. It has happened during IPL and will happen for the next 1000 years in India. So let's just focus on ridiculing.

Raina's competition is Yuvraj, Dhoni etc !

Not seniors like middle-order greats VVSL and Dravid.

err there is a very good answer for this . Raina's weakness against short pitched deliveries has been exposed at t20 / ODI level.
This match, the pitch wasn't condusive to pace bowling hence the short pitch barrage that was sent to him didn't work as desired.

But you could see how uncomfortable he was against the short pitched ones even at this pitch.
