Dalmiya who was then ICC president bent bowling action rules to accomodate Murali. In the 1900's to 1990's bowlers like Murali were banned after just one test match look. ICC did not wish to waste the great talent of Murali, suspect action notwithstanding. Rajesh Chauhan of India was not so lucky. All in all Murali's inclusion was good for cricket.
Hand Grenade thrower like bowler Murlitheran going to retire on 23rd of july after 1st test vs India.. after so many controversies surrounding him that ICC has to bend some rule (15 degree angle )for murli in 1998. Murli need to thanks Arjuna Ranatunga, Arvind D'silva & Jagmohan Dalmiya for his effort to include grenade thrower in bowler category.

Murali great Than underarm bowling Aussies (last ball of the innings bowled against newzealand to secure aussie victory)
football improvements. just like ckt where changes r being made. eg football has also to change allowing 15 players in match, that way, the matches vl b interesting n v can see more goals. 90 min of play n only a handful of goals, the situation can b changed after allowing more players.
when pakistan team got 5 points penalty everyone say racism and pakis threaten to withdraw. but afterwards everyone knows afridi and team are cheating like hell. even they are match fixing. they are own pcb banned some players. when warne got banned why nobody say it is racism? if murali was banned everyone will behave like hell and say racism and suspend umpire. why????

It is a well known fact that Aussies are racists of the highest order and it reflects in the way they play cricket and their crowds which cannot accept defeat especially from Asian teams. Team Australia even once refused to tour Lanka citing security reasons for they actually feared annihilation at the hands of Murali whom they insulted in Australia as they could not play him. While Warne is a great in his own right but the test wicket figures clearly indicate who is the greatest !!

Yes, when Aleem dar stood between Aus vs Eng test match the Aussie media said he was baised against Aussies! One particular appeal he turned down was of Shane Warne against Straus. It was an inside edge. When he turned down, the crowd booed, the players yelled showed dissent. When replay was played it showed it was an inside edge. The clip is on you tube and go visit it. So Aussies are not angels as well when it comes to racism/bais. Emerson and Hair were both disgrace to umpiring panels and rightly shrugged off. They were never Dikie Birds and Sheppards who even with their mistakes were loved by the teams cause those would not be intentional while Hair can not see clear inside edges but can predict by looking at the ball that it has been tampered with! when 16 cameras in the ground could not catch it only he was able to! Then asks for a settlement by writing to the ICC to give him money! Imagine if that had been done by Aleem Dar or any Indian umpire! ICC would have forfeited the match!
It is a fact that, the 15 degrees bent was allowed by the ICC to accomodate chuckers like Murali, Harbhajan and Saqlain. All the three bowlers still bowl with a bent arm, and straightens it while delivering the ball. The BCCI's financial might allowed and still allows bowlers especially those from the sub-continent to bowl with bent arm and blatantly make a mockery of basic cricket laws. No matter what his personal life was, Shane Warne is undoubtedly the most deserving bowler to keep the record. He had to compete with one of the greatest fast bowlers of all time to get those wickets. On the other hand, Murali bowled almost 35 to 40 overs per innings to get those wickets, and failed on most ocassions to help his team to win. Warne has bowled his team to victory on numerous ocassions, and helped in making the Australian team the greatest of all time.

you foreigners cant digest the fact that the world's greatest batsmen and bowlers have born in the Indian Subcontinent. You are blaming murali, harbhajan and saqulain now and will later blame sachin tendulkar as none of your batsmen has the potential or caliber to match the master. You are all bloody hypocrites.

Exactly Trushil. I am from Pakistan, when they cannot see clear edges being not given by umpires, how the hell can Emerson say he did not bend it accurately? he had to see bowler not stepping the line, fielding and so many things! grapes are sour Mr Emerson. Worlds greatest batsmen are from Sub continent Tendu, Laxmans, Dravids, Inzi, Miandads, bowlers like Kapil, Imran, Wasims, Waqars and Shoiabs. If Warne is something then his guru Abdul Qadir was his dad and kept the art alive when Aussies were bowling under-arm to win matches! remember the Chappel affair? maximum viewer ship is here as well. Inventors of cricketing skills are here Doosra, Teesra, reverse Swing! Grapes are sour Emerson! Warne is good! no doubt but Murali is ahead of him.

hey Junior Shelly --- tards like you should stop posting. murali is what sachin is for india .. a ONE man army.
Warne bowled fewer overs because he had world class bowlers to apply pressure on other end.
Not taking anything from warne though. To me he is a better bowler than murali just because he has a clean action
