credit for win goes to sehwag.
by vinay on Jan 21, 2010 11:57 PM  | Hide replies

credit for win goes to sehwag. he declared ind innings after giving target of 400. normally ind r not good in declaring innings. that robs us from clinching victories out of the dull draws.

it was good of sehwag to declare at the right time.

;-)

And since now we are looking at the match in hindsight, just as Vinay is, we can also confidently say that he did NOT declare at the right time.... :)

He was being defensive to take the score past 400 before delcaring... :)

Good that it didn't backfire eventually... ;-)

We, third class world
by Lucky B on Jan 21, 2010 11:15 PM  | Hide replies

I pity on on ourselves as Indian.
Woman hockey team member will receive 50 Rs each after their protest for their long time due.

I really feel ashamed on our efficiency, and the way we handle other sports.

We are third world nation indeed.

It is VERY difficult and HOT at the TOP
by Ramesh Murthy on Jan 21, 2010 11:14 PM  | Hide replies

The victory over Bangladesh is inconsequential and should have been a given anyway for a team like India! But the reality is that India allowed bangladeshi batsman to wag their tail too much! to get your opponent score 72 runs after being down for 130 for eight is scandalous!poor fielding, irresponsible bowling, and over-confidence all played a part in this debacle! Just shows how much WE need to learn from a team like Australia! To remain the top team one has to be running to stay still! We need to take the catches we are dropping at present, and get out of our Psyche, that there is no worrying about fielding and allowing extras bcos we can always chase runs with our batting flair alone!!

I agree Ramesh. I'm also a die hard fan of indian Cricket team and proud to say that our team is No.1 in Test rankngs. But personally I feel(as chappel mentioned) we are not good enough to maintain the No.1 position, ater seeing the match against bangladesh. Bagladesh lost this match only becasue of their lack in test experience. India doesn't played like a champions and we didn't won this match comfartably and in a dominating way(which we are far behind from Aussies)

Sachin Haterrs get a LIFE
by Cool ChandraThakur on Jan 21, 2010 10:45 PM  | Hide replies

Sachins century came at a time when the conditions were much more difficult.
2 quick wickets had fallen, bowlers were getting reverse swing & nobody would stay on to partner him.
If he had gotten out early, we would have folded for 100 something coz by holding one end, he made sure tailenders got more time to make some contributions.

It would have been a big setback for morale.

Un-Sachin:

;-).... too bad he stayed on and denied us this opportunity... :)

BTW, Gambhir was guilty of the same offence in the second innings, of not giving our bowlers an opportunity to come on and wrap up Bangladesh within 100... :)

badrinath: india's most unlucky domestic batsman
by gaurav manchanda on Jan 21, 2010 10:14 PM  | Hide replies

with laxman injured, india will be going to play with dinesh karthik as the replacement. i cant understand y selectors are ignoring badrinath. badrinath is a much much better batsman as compare to karthik and his batting figures signifies his talent & temperament as a test player.

in the longer format of cricket (4 day matches), karthik domestic average is just 36 whereas badrinath average is 58.

cud any1 explain what badrinath has to do so that he can play for india?

May be he has to practice to keep wickets. I think Murali Vijay is also good, given the way he the chance when MS is not playing... This is just coz, the team needs a keeper. I don think there is any other keeper batsman.. This should b the reason why they select Karthik ahead of the other batsmen.
