Play Until You Love the Game
by Patriot on Jan 18, 2010 09:24 PM

Sachin - Play until you like and love the game and don't stop scoring runs, centuries...play until there is another player in Domestic cricket who can take your spot...never worry about critics especially Indian critics who just TALK/BLOG for nothing...we are a billion people nation and cant shut everyone's views/opinions...play for the 600 million if not for the 400 million ! Most ignorant critics were arguing about your match winning, match saving performances as the only issue in your Golden career...let them see results for themself in recent past...Australia traingular series win, England Chennai Test 2nd innings century and now this Century are simply GOLDEN MATCH WINNING?SAVING KNOCKS....where are Laxman, Darvid, Yuvraj now?

statistics ?
out of 150 matches he had played India lost about 75 matches. He has contributed in those defeats.
He had not scored centuries in more than 70 matches he played , he is therefore not a good player
He was out on 99 for about 10 times . He does not know how to score century
AK, plese go to the ground and teach Sachin how to play
If u are just critic and have moral right to criticise without ability to play , do not mind . Just find and tell some good player to teach Sachin

50-50 CRICKET
by sastryjln on Jan 18, 2010 09:16 PM

Sachin 'Ton'dulkar should set Gold Standards for the generation ahead by scoring 50 centuries each in the test as well as in one-day cricket. He also got an opportunity to get 75-75 half-centuries (if not 100-100) in both the formats of cricket. Let us pray the almighty to bless him with more energy. Critics should realize that when Sachin hang his shoes, we have to wait for another 100 years to watch such a game again.

Sachin is one of those players who are born once in a century. Congratulations to him on scoring 44th century of his sparkling career. Player like him wins fans across the globe without race and religion prejudice. Adding beauty to his talent, is his down to earth attitude. I see him scoring 50-50 hundreds both in test and ODI before retirement.
Wish him best of luck!

So what. What one has to do with his centuries?? These are his personal property. Like Gavaskar, Warne , Muralitharan have. Who cares personal landmarks when the team has failed in batting.

If team puts a good show, like they did against SL recently, it does not matter if Tendulkar gets out for zero in all those innings.

When you compare sachin with ponting, lara or bradman or present day cricketers, see the allround performance, the attitude the fairness, the honesty, humbleness and above all the biased attitude of the many world umpires who have given him falsely out end no of times, and the no of times sachin has got out in 90's unluckily. And you will see he is above all the other great by miles. Also he has faced the best bowlers in the world and scored hundreds maximum against australia, while others have scored against ordinary bowlers.

Do you know that Chetan Chauhan got out 13 times in 90s. He is only cricketer in the world who scored over 2000 runs but never scored a century. Shall we count his 13 ininigs as centuries?

Do mean to say that Kapil, Kumble, Srinath, Prabhakar, Walsh, Vas, Bond, Muralitharan, Akran, Younus, Akhtar, Hoggard were ordinary bowlers.

So called Shrikanth remember Bradman never faced the bowlers you have named and Mickey ponting faced them when they were fading and end of their carriers. In case of Murali and Akhtar, they would make them sit outside on pretext of faulty action. Mickey was never comfortable facing Bhajji also. You must be kid or a nonindian to support average players like ponting or bradman. In fact, bradman faced bowlers, who were mostly like rangroots. Have you seen bodyline clippings?????

Why you are getting so defensive and irritated. Please be adjusted to criticism and do not be a blind supported of a selfish money making entertainer machine.

Bradman made 6996 runs in 52 tests with 3 triple,6 double centuries and 29 centuries at an average 99.96.

He played on worst of the wickets - rotten, wet due to rain and cracking. He playes against Larwoods, Taits, Lockwood without helmets in the body line series.

Even Gavasker and cricketers of his era used to face the pace batteries of Roberts, Holding, Marshal, Thomson, Lillie, Willis, Botham, Imran Khan, Hadlee.

hey come on don't insult bradman .. he was a great of his generation. Ponting is damn good too , he is no way average.

But yeah , if you compare ponting and tendy, Its tendy that takes the cake. Even the aussie great Shane Warne ackowledges this.

but what does shane warne and rest of the world know? Our paper tiger Shrikanth with 0 cricket skills and credentials is right. Rest of the world is wrong.

well see he was a great at that point of time. You cannot compare him with tendy. Its just not fair in any way. He might have had played against avegare teams , and I do know that the fielding standards at that time would be deemed pathetic compared to what we have now. But thats why he has an average of 99.99 :)

Cool Sameer. Please do not get irritated with the facts. Don't feel offended. I am a critic and criticism with facts does hurt deep. But without criticism, cricket will not be interesting. You will be surprised that I am following cricket since I was kid in 1975 when WI toured India. :-)

To continue, this is also a fact that Ponting has outclassed Tendulkar in this decade, in addition he has led his team to win 2 World cups, 2 ICC CTs.
