Ganguly’s own performance in World Cup 2003
by sanjay on Jan 12, 2010 10:28 AM  | Hide replies

matches which all his supporters are claiming as tall.

Against major oppositions where opening partnership was spoiled by Ganguly

8 v New Zealand at Paarl
9 v Aus at Centurion
19 v Eng at Durban
0 v Pak at
48 v Sri Lanka at Johannesburg
3 v NZ at Centurion
24 v Aus at Johannesburg

And now look Tiger against minnows

112 not out v Nam atPietermaritzburg
107 not out v Ken at Cape Town
111 not out v Ken at Durban
24 v Zim at Harare

Not out against minnows to swell averages but mediocre batting performance. Now go and find out why we went to Finals who scored there? Keniya went to semis as England and New Zealand surrendered matches and points as protest against Zimbabwe regime for their safety. And those were supposed to be played there in Zimbabwe.

and as England and New Zealand surrendered their matches in protest against Zim regime Kenya came to semis. Ganguly is worser than rookies of 20-20 like Sharma Yusuf Uthappa and Gambhir all capable of replacing him in ODI

Indeed a great analysis by someone who neither has any cricket knowledge nor any memory. The many matches SG won for India are available in the net. Anyone who wishes to know can find out. Just to remind the ignorants, in WC 2007, under Dravid's capaincy, India lost 2 matches and won only against minnows Bermuda. SG was the 2nd highest run scorer after Viru. SG's score was almost equal to what Sachin, Dravid & Dhoni scored combinedly. Agreed that the strike rate was less. But in Bangladesh match, had he not held up one end, India would've been all out at a much lower score. Those who've watched the match live know how painful it was to score runs amidst losing partners at the other end at a faster rate. KKR didn't suffer becoz of SG but due to lack of proper supporting batsmen. SG won 3 matches in IPL1. But in IPL2 he lost the interest which was appropriate becoz of the insult meted out to him and SRK was part of it. Dravid never faced any problem becoz of him. It's cooked up by some daydreamers.
