I guess entire hockey team will pay perhaps lesser amount than sir sachin alone paid... Actually Indian Govt should pass a bill and name cricket as a national game. Then only all these useless arguments/comments/Controversies will end up.

Find out how the DMK family has amassed (and still continues to) thousands of crores of money all these years considering their background and also how the Marans are into different, various businesses.
Why didnt Sachin and other celebrity just move out and live in Tax free havens like Switzerland, malta, dubai, seychelles to avoid giving money to a govt which does not even guarantees clean drinking water.

The govt will not act against the so-called celebrities even if they don't pay taxes or conceal their true income, whereas the common man will be harassed a lot. Sachin Tendulkar won't bother whether the govt supplies clean drinking water to us or not because he can afford to buy water at whatever price.

Any one can play, be consistent and make big score but the profesionalism in playing cricket is important that talks even after 100 years.. I think there is no replacement for sacin or lara or brodman.....
just imagine a test team of raina ,kohli, yuvraj ...........
india will be all out before scoring 100 against bangladesh.leave aside other team.
lately the so called younster just close there eye and hit the ball without any technique..... they boast of good avg as they are playing in "flat and dead" asian wickets. not all will have success like shewag.future look bleak even before 2012.

thats what i want to know, when was the last time India made less than 100 on a true pitch :)
It glad to know that sprotspersons are paying too much of taxes good for the country and people. I think that Indian policticans are earning more than thest people but not paying any taxes. Has any one knows that Indian politicans are paying any taxes?
Its bad that cricket has become commercial and lots of ads inbetween overs. Everywhere on the ground also too much mncs and others placing advertisements. The other sports are just neglected. Cricket is just a hyped sport by the media. When other nations outside subcontinent play many more sports other than cricket then why cant india being more than a billion people.
Re: Sachin creats another record

Yes, what u say is absolutely true, Mike. Cricketers like Sachin are exploiting this mad media hype about their so-called records to the hilt and keep playing for ages, thereby blocking the way for some deserving upcoming players.Worse, for the past many years, he has been virtually dictating the selectors about skipping or playing a particular series or coming back into the team straight away, either after injury or even after a long run of poor scores, whereas the same is denied to many others. One must remember what happened to Michael Vaughan who was shown no mercy by the ECB and he had to quit finally seeing the writing on the wall that was obvious to say the least.
Don't forget it was the same Sachin who in 2002 refused to pay, and also begged the central government to waive off, the import duty for the Ferrari car that was gifted to him by Mike Schumacher. Was he, even then, such a pauper so as to not pay taxes. It was an insult to the honest tax-paying middle class people who don't even a fraction of what he earns. All the talk of him doing "charity" are just humbug.

AP: Statesman just stated the fact. You may not like it but its true.

Not only had he asked for tax waiver but also had a reason for it that as he has been giving donations he can do so.
He didnt learn from this fiasco and again asked for tax exemption for the homologation test of his Ferrari :)

Yes, Rocky. He will never ever learn as he is a miser to even pay the customs duty (that is peanuts for him) out of his own pocket.
