Hi All, I would like to agree with the cricketing experts that it is peculiar indeed that Yusuf choose to wait and play the defensive game when he ideally should have gone for the kill. The Aussie's were on the mat sniffing dust and anybody having an iota of knowledge for the game would advise keeping them that way. How often have they turned matches head-on? These guys wins by playing badly when others need to be exceptional for a win against them. Such is their level of confidence and descipline that makes them consistent performers ( world perceives that as arrogance and aura but that hardly matters in terms of result though). Coming back to Yusuf, he happens to be a very hard working batsman on whom you can put your money most of the times. He is experienced as well. But captainship is a different ball game altogather, needs one more trait with the two I just mentioned, Leadership quality and this is what Yusuf lacks. he lacks that power to inspire his team and get the best out of his men. Also lets not forget that he is not the captain by choise but given captainship because of Younis khan's unavailability . Be rest assured,he wants to win for his country like all of us but only wase'nt able to put the killer punch on time. Feel we can and should show a little consideration for him amidst of all the critisism.

Please Remember Pakistan had also won the test match against India ... wont by 16 Runs. It was their brilliant bowling performance.

Agreed, thats why everyone is blaming the approach rather than the team itself. Like all good teams, this Pakisthani team is immensely talented but relies more on individual brilliance than team effort. Looks like a cart with eleven horses pulling in all directions , going no-where. All they need to do is to gel as a cohesive unit and perform colloectively. Till then, they will have to settle at the bottom half of the ratings table.

:) Yeah. The way Yousuf picked up the ball, walked up to Hauritz and kept the ball on a plate and asked him to take the easiest "catch" in history of cricket was the most astounding. :)
No other team has won a match sitting on their home lounges sipping beer in the same way this Aussie team was "gifted" the match. :)
The only other time this happened was when India was playing in Sydney in 2008, when we decided to "gift" 3 wickets in a single over to that rank part time spinner Michael Clarke. :)

Had Hauritz not held on to that catch, Yousuf wud hav definitely done what u have written.
Hauritz robbed Yousuf of the oppurtunity of serving him :)

hey rumwhisky, dont say anything against Yousuf.. When I wrote "it appears like yousuf is holding a machine gun and having bombs in his arms" Tarunji replied - "May I request to keep the discussion clean and fair rather than vomiting personal prejudice totally irrelevant of the context" ...

This match was for sure fixed, because the captain is a trader, he was paid to change his religion, now he must have been paid to do this, or else,no way they would have lost this, Yunus Khan was a straight forward guy, he couldn't survie, only crooks like yousuf can stay in the team,
