The coming generations will struggle to find out any cricketer whom they can put against Tendulkar for comparison. The dedication, zeal and consistency which he had maintained for more than two decade itself proved him THE GREATEST. His yesterday's innings is batting manual for one day cricket. He played almost every shot in the book with amazing perfection clubbed with superlative skills. We are fortunate enough to share the same era with Tendulkar.

Sachin at his Best, Give youngsters chance in 3rd ODI
by Kannan sri on Feb 25, 2010 10:22 AM

Sachin, Undoubtedly at his best yesterday. Its a treat to watch him Playing,Hitting 25 4's and 3 6's is not as easy against one of the best Bowling attacks in the world.Hats of to him, Better he can take a break from the 3rd ODI and give youngsters a chance to prove, Since IPL 3 is coming up in 2 weeks time, its necessary to have a break and test Bench Strength.Guys performing well in Domestic Circuit like Manish Pandey can can be tested now in the absence of 2 profilic batsman Yuvi and Gambhir.Since the series is already pocketed give chance to guys like Tyagi to prove themselves here in this Arena.Sachin Should continue to play test Cricket after 2011 WC and score 20000 Runs in Tests too. Already he is approaching that landmark in ODI's.Young Guys need his guidance to settle themselves in International Arena. We saw In First Test Vs RSA what happend in the absence of Dravid,Yuvi and VVS. Its time to groom youngsters but should not be pressurized.Hope BCCI agrees the same.

Why India didn't win one world cup in last 20 years?
by Srinivasan Ashok on Feb 25, 2010 12:16 AM  | Hide replies

Tendulkar Fans, India didn't win single world cup after Tendulkar entered in cricket arena. You would say Tendulkar is good, but team is not good.Though all one day records in Tendulkar's bag, but Team India failed again and again. Today Dhoni played for Team and you guys still criticizing him.

India not winning single world cup after Sachin entered in cricket arena is not Sachin's fault. In fact, he was a top scorer in 1996 as well as in 2003 world cups. In 1996 semi-final against Sri Lanka, India was comfortably placed at 101-1 after about 25 overs chasing 250 runs. Sachin got out after making 65 and then we lost 6 batsmen for mere 30 odd runs. In 2003 final, it is our bowlers who bowled very badly in the final and allowed Australia to score 359 runs. Thus,it is collective failure of the Team India that it did not win any of the world cups after 1983. Australia's three consecutive world cup wins are not because of a particular player(s), but is the result of collective efforts of some of the great players of all time such as Gilchrist, Heyden, Steve Waugh, Shane Warne, Glen Macgrath, Michel Beven, Ricky Pointing, Brett Lee etc. One or two of these players always used to perform whenever required. Australia never depended on a single player in any of these world cups.

Poor play by Dhoni
by kishor yadav on Feb 25, 2010 12:11 AM  | Hide replies

Why Dhoni played so cheap.. He did not allow Tendulkar to take strike for long. Dhoni scored single on last ball of almost every over to deprive Tendulkar the strike. Very poor on Dhoni's part and shame on Dhoni...Otherwise Tendulkar would have scored at least 225. Dhoni should have understood what country wants and name of Indian player Tendulkar in the history.

Dont post messages like this.Tendulkar dont have the stamina to strike the ball after 45 overs that is why took up from him and played a rocket innings.Sachin have himself avoided the single before the last ball of 50 th over as he was not able to play the hard hitting shot in the last ball.It was Dhoni who gave the strike to Sachin in last over even though there is a chance for 2 runs.Dont Do a work like pakistani

Dhoni - The most matured player
by rangdebasanti on Feb 25, 2010 12:10 AM  | Hide replies

Dhoni showed the world how matured he is. Observe the following points.

* By keeeping on slamming the bowlers, he literally took the attention away from Tendulkar

* He gave enough time to Tendulkar to cool down from his excitation, which he was

* By keeping the strike, he kept the score board rushing. In fact, it was easy for him to hit the bowlers, as their attention was on Tendulkar.

* If Tendulkar had scored the double earlier, he might have got out easily. But this way, he had remained not out.

* Last but not the least, Dhoni used the pressure in his mind to give chance to Tendulkar in the most constructive way by scoring (rather amassing) runs at a very very brisk rate.

Dhoni is indeed a very matured player.

RDB:
I noticed in your comments:
1. By slamming the bowlers he took their attention "away" from Tendulkar
3. ..It was easy for him to hit the bowlers as their attention "was" on Tendulkar

4. If Tendulkar had scored the double earlier, he would have got out..... How?

5. By scoring runs himself, Dhoni gave chance to Tendulkar....???

Dunno about Dhoni, but YOU are a very matured comment maker... ;-)
