India was on the verge on writing a case study on " how to lose a match". Some how we won. It is pathetic to see tailenders ripping off our lead bowlers and nearly winning the game for proteas.

Bisen, do you remember the series against australia we lost 2-4? the match where praveen kumar and harbhajan almost won the match for us in similar/identical condition? at that time Australia was on the verge on writing a case study on " how to lose a match". Some how aus won. It was pathetic to see tailenders ripping off australia lead bowlers and nearly winning the game for us. right?

There were many such matches "some how" won by Australia and that was the beginning of Australia's domination.

:) You mean to say that they were "dominating" matches (only to bring themselves to the brink of a loss) much before their actual domination era began? :)

Correct. After we managed to dismiss the South Africa top order within 50 runs, and the middle and the tail within a combined 17 runs, how can Bisen complain about imaginary runs being scored?
We should all revel in our 250 runs win and stop people like Bisen from making erroneous comments. Obviously he knows nothing about cricket, and the cricket "experts" on this forum will soon put him right in his place... :)

pseudo, Correct. remember the match vs australia? harbhajan and praveen kumar almost won the match for us in an identical situation like this match. After australia managed to dismiss the indian top order within 50 runs, and the middle and the tail within a combined 17 runs, some imaginary runs were scored, correct? you revelled at that time in australia's 250 runs win. Obviously some one wrote under your name at that time? Either that pseudo knows nothing about cricket, or the above pseudo does not.

Did u notice that whenever Nehra bowls there are lot of misfieldings' especially by other bowlers. I saw one match when Zaheer dropped two catches, let the ball go to boundary thru legs where it deserved only 1. Yesterday I saw praveen kumar doing the similar. Dhoni left a four which was a beautiful delivery.

But thankfully cricket is not a madness in South Africa and the fans are not insanely attached to the "religion" as one of the few escape routes in an otherwise bumpy life... :)
Hence Kallis and others can take it just as a sport and let it go at that... :)
Which is why I don't blame Jumbo for making those emotionally appealing statements.. any Indian captain would have been "stunned" after losing after being just 7 down in the last over ... and thinking ahead of how to reply to fanatic fans back home upon return would have been playing top on his mind...

No team can refer to the third umpire. That decision entirely rests with the on field umpires. You are probably confusing it with the referral system that was in the Aus-Pak series. BTW, Jadeja sometime back in 1998 or so once suggested to the umpires for a 3 rd umpire referral by making the sign. He was suspended for 1 match by the ICC. Also you mention Nehra's dismissal. What about Gibbs being clearly out caught behind by Dhoni with the score on 2 and Bosmann being plumb lbw at the same score. These things balance out.

Rao:
The issue is not the normal umpiring mistakes which get evened out - like Morkel being given LBW off an inside edge (to your point of other decisions)...
The issue is when Umpires don't refer it to the 3rd umpire when the technology is available.
I think Zeng's actual point is that South Africa didn't appeal, when they should have. If they had appealed, the Umpire would have referred to the 3rd umpire..

Again refer to the Jadeja 1998 incident. Read the ICC rule book. When playing under the present rules, no team can request the umpire to call the third umpire. If done, it is an automatic ICC violation. Only under the referral system in place for the Aus-Pak series, can a team ask for a third umpire decision by appealing, something which the Lankans kept repeating ad nasuem following the Mumbai debacle. The Morkel inside edge, the snickometer didnt pick it up. See the you tube video.
