nehra should be replaced by irfan pathan, thats the only change.and sachin should give way to some young bloke like rohit sharma
wat a nailbiting finish i must say. but this has clearly exposed the bcciteamindias weakness in bowling and fielding department which is far below the expectations of any world class bowling and fielding. there is no doubt that bcciteamid has paid heavy amount to ICC for keeping their positionas no 1 in test cricket.
Re: Re: wat

Even that must hv been fixed, tendulkar who saved 4 runs were actually 4 runs but it was reduced to 3 by third umpire which clealry gave favour to bcciteamindia. SA played better than bcciteamindia, anyone can tell that match was fixed, coz how come SA scored so many runs even after loosing 8 wickets and impossible run rate to achive. this match was fixed to add more spice and create interest in among the specatators and TV viewers. bccci has got lots of money with which they are doing all this dirty work.

No the difference was poor umpiring which went against SA,it was a gem of a game..realy enjoy the whole evening..but I have to say that a string of errors of umpires cost dearly to SA.The run out of peterson,L.B.W of morkel and than the boudary..but these things is common when u place the home umpire...But cool DHONI sud take all the credits to overcum the jingles..best of luck for coming 2 onedayers.

Umpiring can correct itself, by the nexxxxus has made it wrong for long time... " this is what deal making and nexxus does, ruins players, ruins team and causes lasting damage. "

Why not talk of first two umpiring decisions which went in favour of S.A. when batsmen were out? Run out of Sehwag was sheer bad luck and many good batsmen have been out that way and one can not blame Kartik for that.

I totally agree with you.. When it happens to indians in other countries all news channels cry foul. but when it happens in india by indian umpires against other countries, all is fair in this game. Two decision were against SA and they were key players. I feel the way umpire was giving his decision so fast, he had predetermined mindset to send SA players back to pavillion

if india is made to win wrong full, WE WILL FLUNK BIG TIME IN REAL FIGHTS.
this is what nexxxxus is doing to indian selection.
The difference between India and S.A yesterday was Jadeja's bowling and India's ground fielding. Who can forget Sachin's dive n save in the last over? This man continues to amaze us even after 20 years of international cricket.
As Shahrukh Khan said we are fortunate that we breath the same air that Sachin breaths!

if it wud have been 4 then less experienced lengeveldt have to make 3 to win..so not declaring that 4 brought parnell to strike which infact was in favor of SA..i dont know why u see it the other way..what if that wud not have been wide...
Re: Re: Re: Re: Cricket at it's best
by shayantan basu on Feb 22, 2010 09:55 AM
in cricket.....dont talk abt ifs and buts....... if it was given a four.....then Langeveldt would have been on strike.....and would have needed 3 from last ball.....and may be it wouldnt have been wide..... in any case.......SA had to score 3 from last ball.......which they couldnt..... with parnell at strike so fair enough
Re: Re: Re: Re: Cricket at it's best
by rohit sharma on Feb 22, 2010 09:53 AM
Charl Langeveldt took three runs off the fifth delivery of the over to leave the equation at four needed from the last delivery and that brought parnell at strike..if it wud have been 4 then again langeveldt has to play which was an advatge for india at that time..since parnell was hitting ball well thus the experineced at that time..

mr. Against pseudos i just answered ur ifs and buts with my ifs and buts....... at the end india won......thats it.... dont just look at the mathematics of 1 run....... see other aspects as well... South africans havent said a single word on it...........just u and like minded people who r always suspicious r raising this issue
Re: Re: Re: Cricket at it's best

Very True!! If Langevelt hit 3 once that don'i mean he will be hitting it every ball.

by Lotiya Pathan on Feb 22, 2010 10:13 AM
No it wouldn't have really. What made you think that Kumar would have bowled wide to Langevelt?
If Stein scores 35 in 19 balls in one game, doesn't mean he will keep doing this every time and that he is the #1 batsman in the SA team..

Since LP had given his expert opinion that Langeveldt wouldn't have hit a 3, I ventured out with my suggestion that he would have hit a 1 perhaps? :)
But that's okay. With the amount of "cricket experts" out to prove a point here, I will accept that the only thing I know in this world is "counting practice".... :) So I'll go back doing that... :)

Against pseudos good that u know......that was a boundary..... even 3rd umpire saw that video and commentators saw that as well....... all said it was benifit of doubt. and benifit of doubt in case of runs should be given to fielding teams....... just like benifit of doubt in outs are given to batsmen....ok?????
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Cricket at it's best
by shayantan basu on Feb 22, 2010 10:27 AM
watever LP said....... u said....1 run would have been sufficient for a tie........thats laughable.... and u r doing no charity on us by going back to school.......its for ur good
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Cricket at it's best
by rohit sharma on Feb 22, 2010 09:56 AM
why you assume that in case of langeveldth pravin sharma wud have sent a wide ball.. he may opted for slow ball in case langeveldt was at strike..in that case even after 1 run indian cud have won..just listen the commentry of gavaskar at that time..he was virtually suggesting that third umpire shud make it 4 so that to favor india
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Cricket at it's best
by shayantan basu on Feb 22, 2010 10:23 AM
against pseudos i think u dont know.......its the fielding team who gets benefit of doubt in case of runs.....and batting team gets same benefit of doubt in case of dismissals..... this has been happening since years........if u dont know.......ask any body who u think has good knowledge
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Cricket at it's best

kaise???????? praveen tried a wider ball to parnell........does that mean he would have tried the same with langevelt

Good point. We should have Sree as the twlefth man, and purposely remove one of the players so that Sree can field instead and effect many more such critical runouts that you highlighted above... :)
You will see more people picked at wrong time and for wrong place.
selection is ALL JINXEED, all because dhoogi wants to save his place and has made nexxus and deals with main selector/selectors and certain players for flip-flop.
in order to boost india and team morale, Dhoogi should be ejected for sometime to begin the correction.
Now babuaaaa begin cryiiing, start kisssing pawars hand....

In order to prepare for the world cup, you will have to experiment with various combinations to have more options.
These are practice matches for the world cup. Results of bi-lateral ties are never the index of competition. The real test lies in major tournaments like WC, ICC CT where you need to have a 22 member fit team, not a 11 member fit team.
Team India spends most of its energy in bi-lateral ties(due to commercial reasons), but fail miserably in competitive cricket. They get out in first round itself. They even lose to much weaker opponents in even Tri-Series finals.
India win this game only by chance. Indian blowing attack is poorest blowing attack. I did not think this team deserve for No.1 in any format of the game
I donot know why he is still in the team. If anyone go through his statistics for any consecutive two one or two tests, one contrasts with another. He never shown any consistancy. More over he is good for test matches. One day he is a bad bowler. Pls the cricket expert try to think abt this guy. Nobody bowls perfect in every matches. But this guy only bowls good in every 10 matches.
Re: Sreeshanth
by krishna v on Feb 22, 2010 09:19 AM
a team needs two type of bowlers 1) who curtail the runs - e.g fanie de villers, mcgrath 2) bowlers who might go for runs but would take crucial wickets - donald, brett lee etc. for India it is sreesanth who here to take wickets..he might go for runs.but would take top wickets.imagine if he had not bowled kallis at that crucial moment? so its not just runs, but you need bowlers who take wickets too..
