after loss dhobi can blame the pitch...coz lose they will with too much dependence being given to decade old performance of haribhaaji and laxman to do it again...which they will not...

Four Bowlers
by Jay on Feb 13, 2010 06:52 PM  | Hide replies

Four bowlers is ok, if all four are fit and in form. Ishant and Harbhajan are nowhere near their peak performance levels. So we are two short. Also, try with Mishra for a couple of series more, rather than dumoing after a poor Test. He seems to have the ability and is bowling alright, but may take some time to settle in.

Mr Dhoni, learn from Australians and South Africans how to play on all types of surfaces and win matches on the opponents turf.

You are forgetting that NZ board had prepared flat pitches of your choice on dictat of BCCI for commercial reasons during the last tour.

how about a gun with bullets and dhoogi playing. If he can see the bullets, he survives and be gone to his goat farm.

method of countering raw pace and bowling raw pace on any pitch
by vijay on Feb 13, 2010 06:20 PM  | Hide replies

simple logic --- if u wanna spend 100 bucks u should have at least 1000 bucks in ur kitty.

okkk... means, for countering raw pace, just practice batting on a 11 yard pitch with grass n water sprinkeled surrounded by 6 to 8 air conditioners with roofs n wall covered cricket lab ground.

and for bowling raw pace, bowl on a 44 yard pitch, with marble tiles flooring in hot sun in a vaccume conditioned cricket lab ground.

one baffling question ? STUPIDITY AT ITS BEST
by vijay on Feb 13, 2010 06:17 PM  | Hide replies

if austalia and SA and england never prepare turning pitches why on earth, we stupid indians prepare bit of seaming, grassy, bouncy pitces to suit the foreigners n not go with our strength of spinning pitches.

This is STUPIDITY AT ITS BEST.

wicket benefitting the host
by biswanath roy on Feb 13, 2010 06:09 PM

in 2004 when india played australia at nagpur, saurav ganguly the captain was livid with rage on seeing the wicket which had lots of green grass on it, a clear indication of the pitch favouring the fast bowlers. ganguly demanded that the entire grass be stripped off but shashank manohar the then vidharba cricket boss refused to oblige him.ganguly feigned injury dropped out of the team and india lost by an innings and also lost the test series. now manohar is the bcci boss he demanded that a spinning track be prepared at the eden to help india win and level the series, but curator prabir mukherjee wanted bcci to send him written instructions as to what type of wicket is desired, bcci backed off. manohar a "chamcha" of pawar is arrogance personified, and dalmiya the bengal cricket boss is cutting him to size.the wicket episode is nothing but a story of revenge by dalmiya on pawar and his chamcha.
