Good thoughts. I think the problem lies with the governance. Needs total reform to make that happen. Just google FREEDOM TEAM OF INDIA and be part of reform. Type the same on youtube as well.

India's best bet in this game...
by Gorango Thakurta on Feb 08, 2010 02:33 AM

is to bat it out. I seriously doubt India's bowling attack in thisgame can get 10 SA wickets in the 2nd innings. Draw this one and come back with a better attack next game.

Indian team should not go into
by NashikMarathi on Feb 08, 2010 02:09 AM  | Hide replies

All the messages are Sehwag this and that... but realistically if he gets out there are only three big scorers after him Gambhir, Sachin and Dhoni.

Vijay and Badri are unproven at best.

Saha has got lucky.

Then we get the bowlers. Indian batting without Dravid and Laxman looks very shaky. One good burst by Steyn and Morkel can put this team in trouble very fast.

Kallis!
by Sudarsan on Feb 08, 2010 12:00 AM  | Hide replies

Kallis has opened his mouth too early. This pitch is no minefield and Sehwag is there to take full toll of such pitches. And the rate at which scores, 558 is not a total where you cant lose. If Sehwag bats 75% of the day tomorrow at his usual rate, India will score at 4 to 4.5 runs per over which will get them 380 odd (400 total by the end of Day 3). If they bat a session and a half on Day 4, they can overcome SA's total and get a 50 run lead and declare. By that time the wicket must do some tricks and SA could potentially destruct. India win is not out of the equation although its the least likely outcome.

Sehwag is hit or miss. The pitch may not be a mine field but its not that flat either. By the way, Sehwag didn't blast in bangladesh. SA have a decent bowling and will have specific plans for him.

Sudarsan:

Good mathematics. But if you can slightly tweak the sentence to say 5 to 5.5 runs per over instead of 4 to 4.5 overs, then suddenly the picture can change.... :)

The Indians always open their mouth early that is why we got not win a single major tournament last year
Pure Hype no substance.
Only call Bangaldesh and Sri Lanka and keep hammering them and then shout from top of the roof that we are No 1 in tests

Indian openers did well. SA bowlers xpctations are high!
by Talisman on Feb 07, 2010 10:58 PM  | Hide replies

SA bowlers are coming in expecting their pace is going to make a difference. Well. It will only if they bowl good line and length. The way I see it, India will play our Steyn and attack the rest. Steyn can bolw about 5 to 10 overs burst max. See him off and then focus on taking runs off the rest.

Put Morkel under pressure and indians will attack the spinner. It is likely SA will be blown away by the Sewag storm.

They are so focussed on Sewag. They under estimate Gambhir. Vijay is eager and so is Bhadri. Not to mention that little master Tendulkar. Well. I almost left out Dhoni.

I expect the indian openers to play the same aggro style that, if it comes off will blow away the SA plans.

Talisman:

Dunno whether SA is so focussed on Sehwag, but YOU seem to be too focussed on Steyn. :)

So by your own logic India can potentially fall in the pitfall of other SA bowlers... :)

I think Kallis should have forgotten that eventhough dravid, vvs are not playing. The trio of Gambhir, VIRU and the MASTER himself are still in line.
