This is absolute bullshit,Dinesh karthik should have been included in this squard as he has done really well in the past never got out like rohit.
Rohit is given more and more oppurtunities who never ever shines but no proper oppurtunities for M Vijay,D.Karthik,S Badrinath,when looked at neutral perspective
The only reason smelled behind this is just because they are south indians/Tamilians,This is so very unhealthy for Team India.
Being a North indian i deeply sympathize these poor Guys

krishna kumar.....south indians are always given a chance as our head of selectors is srikanth, a south indians.......look at abhimanyu mithun...........what significant has he done to be in the team? just bcoz he is south indian...
dinesh karthik, murli vijay, badrinath, all have been given chances...
even a tired bowler like balaji was given another chance because he is from south india.....
i would say no proper apportunities are given to mumbai, maharashtra and west india.......there are many players who deserve to be given a chance in test......say ravindra jadeja, abhishek nayar, cheteshwar pujara....etc...

get lost !! But yes, Rohit sharma shouldn't have been selected. Kartik didn't do too great in bangladesh tour when he had his chances, guess thats why he wasn't looked at
Wats the use warming the bench...let him play consistently for longer time and then replace dhoni as keeper or replace a batsman... If he cant then so be it.
Selectors selected saha just to give him a feel of International Arena. They dont expect him to play any of the tests. Selectors have been doing this for a while now. Remember Kulkarni went for a tour. Just keep rotating the bench, so that they get valuable experince and confidence. and then leave them again in Ranji level..
If u analyse, after Sachin, no teenager went un-dropped. Absolutely none . And the ones who made a return became big players.
Many of u said, pujara made three triple centuries...Most of u dont know actually only one of them is made in Ranji level.
That case even rohit hit a triple century and also twin centuries in last years ranji final...and avg 87 this season in ranji...
I am not a Rohit fan too. All I am doing here is trying to understand the selectors thought process.
Remember Ambati Rayudu from hyderabad, a devastating batsman under Ranji level. Many predicted he is the next boy wonder. He just couldnt carry that to Ranji level. So noone can guarantee the success of these youngsters like Rohit,Manish,Pujara,Kohli,Rahane and Nayar. Any one of them can be an International success or a failure..
So all the selectors can do is to give chance to one who has good technique and temperment.
We dont need someone who can warm the bench and wait for someone to get injured. Let ur pujaras and manishs score heavily for two more seasons and kick someone out of the current team..which according to you should not be a tough tack, as many of u beleieve they are already inetrnational goods. Then they can definitely plunder the Ranjis. wont they?
what the hell did he score to get into indian test team, what willu do with players like d.karthik who scored 150 in both innnings . what joke of a selection. can they justify why he was selected?
I wonder what D Karthik did wrong in B'desh that they did not pick him? I mean the dude got 183 150 in the game against West Zone (although against a weak bowling attack). Also, I saw him take a brilliant catch against Bdesh. Hmmm... mystery.

Karthik got too many chances in last few years but failed miserably.He should have been kicked out much early.players like Wasim Jaffer were thrown out at slight failure but karthik continued for years cortesy Srinivsan

dinesh karthik has played really well in the opportunities presented to him. when no one was willing to open in south africa, guess who stood up and did it -karthik. the problem is, we have a wicketkeeper captain in dhoni and india is doing well. karthik can only find a place if dhoni leaves (which seems highly unlikey) or if he gets injured. you need to persist with a player for a while and give him a consistent run so that he plays with a clear mind. thats where the australians are way above others. they persist with their first choice options which eventually pays off with time.
the reason why karthik wasn't picked for the current series is that , its being played in india and they dont see a need for him to warm the bench for 2 tests. he would rather play other forms of domestic or county cricket in the mean time. saha has been roped in to give him an exposure at the international level. he wouldn't be a very good choice in tests as he lacks the technique and patience for test match. without any doubt- he is a wonderful t20 player and so is dinesh karthik.
Guys please understand, if film release of MNIK is stopped, then people will try to see pirated CDs of film instead. This will increase funding to terrorism finally. We are indirectly funding terrorism.
Anyways there is good news that India has company like 'esecurity4all dot com' (please remove the spaces) which is creating Non-Copyable CDs and DVDs.

I am 100% agree with you, why not others, take dinesh kartik who is in best form, give chance to Pujara, Manish Pandey, Virat Kohli but why Rohittttttttt

cuz they see rohit to be the kind of player who could play the role vvs laxman does in the middle order. now dont think im comparing the two. moreover, dhoni has a say in the selection too.

yes its simply politics. pujara scored 3 triple centuries. but he is not selected. n ppl like rohit gets selected umpteen times inspite of failures.
