Ashes
by chelsea on Dec 10, 2010 01:18 PM

All this talk is only because it is the Ashes. It is the BIGGEST thing for Australia. If Warnie comes back, it will only be for the remaining tests. If Warne is willing to come back, CA should allow him. Sure, it is kinda shameful but in life only results matter.
IF Warne comes back and wins it for them, I can bet you the Poms will be absolutely furious while Aussies will still gloat.
The Aussies can do their rebuilding after the Ashes.
Jones is right though. It is not money that will lure him out. He will want the captaincy.
I think Punter will have to also speak to Warne personally to get it done. I'm not sure it will happen. Perth test will give us clearer ideas.

For what its worth, I don't think Aus are as bad as they have been made to look. A little bit of luck, more application will see them give a decent fight.

i think its best that the administrators dont bring retired players. is OZ brings in warne - that'll be a huge shame for the current oz team! I wish they'd bring him back and stoop to pakistan's levels!

Greg Chappel
by Sandip Gupta on Dec 10, 2010 01:02 PM

Remember, Greg Chappel has been inducted in the Aus National Selection Committee. Based on his past records,no one can save Aus team, as long as Greg Chappel is involved.

Only the slight problem of Don being in an unreachable place. They would have tried otherwise I'm sure.

Return of Warne..
by Raj India on Dec 10, 2010 12:19 PM

It is very shame to Australian cricket to consider a retired cricketer to bring back to salvage some pride...Instead, they should groom new cricketers for future by not bothering about current defeats...
Otherwise, they have to consider to bring back Waugh brothers, Hayden, Gilchrist, and even the Chappel brothers and Allan Border...They may be better than the current squad.. But,the selectors have to admit that they are already retired... The Same Australians were cried for the retirement of Steve waugh and Gilchrist...

Dropping M.Johnson and Hilfanhaus was very poor decision. R.Harris is T-20 and ODI specialist.
