How much credit will u attribute for a ODI macth against Bangaladesh, where Sachin makes 100 in first innings and India make 250-270 and India win comfortably? I would guess not much credit to it. Flash-back to 2007 world cup match, Ind vs Ban , India lost that resulted in ousting out of the world cup. India made around 190 and Ban chased it in about 49 overs. If Sachin made a century in that match, it would like the case I mentioned above. Bottomline, every century he made counts irrespective of oppenent,ground and first/second innings. You will know the value of the innings only if it never exists. But players,selectors/commentators know that value.Thats why they redgard him as the greatest player. Clueless ppl can keep barking that he cant win matches.
I hear all the time that Cricket is only played/competed in 8-10 countries. India alone has 15% of world population (1/6th).So I would say overall around 1/5th of the worlds poupulation follow/compete in cricket. Now tell me which other sport beats cricket?

My dear friend, thanks for ur cooment. Here u go in details, Cricket is the second most popular sports on planet after Soccer in terms of number of people are following the game. Cricket World cup is the 2nd most 3rd most watchable event on planet follwed by Olympics, and Soccer world cup.
If you count by population South Asia's population is count by 18% of world population, where is cricket is the religion. And, people in India we ve always wrong idea on it, but if you go to ICC website, there are 96 nations who playing cricket in divisional basis. Despite of awaful ICC panel who are alwys busy fight with each other, if they would ve done constructive work towards cricket's development plan towards new territory specially with China and south america then we could ve seen different result all together. You may visit highlights of recent cricket matches played in Asian games in China, all matches played by host nation was full house even women cricket matches, which shows huge interest by people and wants to attach with this gentlemen's game. Only ICC governing body should take measurement in an appropriate way to develop T20 around the world. LEt's hope and enjoy.

Bradman played 10/52 test i.e almost 20% tests against the weakest teams of his time[India and SA] with an avg of 190.25
Tendulkar played 14/171 i.e 8% of his tests against the weakest two teams of his time[Bangladesh and zimbabwe] with an avg of 91.47
Every players loves to play against one quality attack,Bradman loved English attack be it at home or in England. He has played 37/52 tests i.e. 71% of his matches against a single familiar opponent. so if V Shewag had played 71% of all his 82 test against his most favourite attack i.e Pakistan[He has an avg of 91 against them], his career avg would have been 80.43.
Bradman's avg had fallen considerably againt quality West Indian attack[74.50] or in bodyline series[55].Bodyline searies indicates one aspect that had he played in today's time with so much techno;ogy around opposition team would have definitely found some chinks or area of discomfort for Bradman, which he mostly escaped in that era.
The point is simple in todays age and time if Bradman had played he would have an avg of around 70 certainly nt 99.94 which was a sheer accident of time.
Had tendulkar played in similar type i.e more matches against the weakest teams or more matches against his favourite attack or only in India and Australian wicket year after year, his avg will also be somewhere near 70.

Bradman played mostly against England and mostly in England and Australia. Its like telling Sachin, that he will be playing against 4-5 bowlers in his career. Yes Yes average above 100 in all forms of game. Remember when Scahin is back from elbow injury, he went straight to england to play club cricket before coming to International crikcet and he made 5 centuries in 5 macthes. Nextly,LBW's are introduced 9 years after Bradman debuted. Lastly the most important thing, Each of bradmans series will span around 4-5 months.And they have 5-6 tour games before actual tests.In this generation, by the time Indian players adjust to the conditions, they will be playing their last test of the tour.If you see India performance in the last test of every away series, you will know what I am speaking. So, from the given facts you cannot compare them.No way Bradmans feat is more than Tendulkars. They both are legends.

That basically gives him practically no practice games, and he has to switch gears from Tests to ODI's and ODI's to Tests constantly. People are forgetting one thing here, sachin is also the best ODI player apart from his heroics in Tests.What does that account for, when comparing to Bradman? Nothing?

yes oomshik, which is exactly why he has been chosen for th prestigious award. They judges should listen to your infinite wisdom .
SRT is an indiv records specialist in a game played by 5 countries. In this too, he never steps up when needed.
cricket is not very competitive, few countries play it. that too it is declining in all countries but Ind, SL, Ban.
Typical comments for SRT are:
'Oh, this year he has better avg than Bradman lifetime' (!) 'Bradman has said he is like SRT' 'Congrats on most runs and most tests' 'oh get a triple hundred. only that is missing' 'aim for a 400, beat Lara record' 'wish you get to 250 tests' 'well done please get to 20000 runs' 'praying for your 100 centuries' 'Hope you play for 5 more years'
Not a word abt winning games.
