Without going into detail Fast bowling is not even an adults play, and facing it altogether atleast an over is tough with International teams.
Lets try once on the real pitch with a good bowler, you will know
What else do you require in a game
Unfortunately cricket is played in lesser countries, but now China and America are picking up.

Every one know cricket.. at least name. I know many names of the games but definately not the stars in that game.. Ice hockey, football not the association football what we see.. these are the games which are only popular in US or more countries.. See what a person has achived in the game not like how many countries played that game... who stopped them from playing... dnt get jealous... just cheer the winner

Guys Grow up- Its top individual award...its not giving award for crickets popularity...whatever Sachin achieved in cricket is unimaginable... So lets consider the performance of Sachin...not the popularity of the game... start appreciating...
If sachin Gets Nomination For THIS VERY PRESTIGIOUS Award then Nothing Like it. In my Privious posting I have insisted that sachin Should Now Compete other Sporting Giants Like Messi, Nadal Sabastian vettel etc. Roger Federer has Won IT FOUR consecutive Years !!! Just go out in the sun and stand for 5 days. Only then would you understand the game. Each game is tough and lets not deride it just because we Indians play that. The Indian attitude is what has created problems. We do not value anything and want rich nations to bless us that our game is a great game. For that matter Chess may be a game which does not require physical endurance. If you have doubts, go and ask Viswanathan Anand how tiring the game is. It requires a lot of stamina and fitness (atleast mental) Get out of your armchair critic mentality buddy

What is golf then ? But still Tiger Woods got the award ! What is Polo ? You don't have to run, you are on horse-back ! But still it is a sport. I think you don'y know the definition of Sport. This award is for sports, whether indoors or outdoors, played between two or more persons or teams.

Every game or a discussion will have two ways. It applies to Cricket also, u spoke on one side.
If you dont know other side 1) Cricket is a very different game having enough Techniques, needs lot of skills to Bat like a breeze 2) Fast bowling is having lot of science involved with that, I cannot explain it here. 3) Fielding tells your reflexes 4) Hitting a century tells your patience and stamina, more over with Fast bowlers pouncing upon you.
Less said the best on postive side of cricket, only drawback is lot of time needed.
