Between Munaf and Rohit,if we need to brand one as Gov employee I would select Rohit.... looks lazier than Munaf in body language.

I think Munaf is ok... he's had some decent spells in the past... in any case we don't have many choices in that department :-(

whole world know proteas strength is pace bowling. Indian already had that planning to take their best pace bowling attack to SA. thats why Shreesanth is rested, Zak is recalled, Ishant is in good form, Fourth & fifth bowling option is unadkut & umesh patel

I said yesterday we cannot be complacent, even whitewash of NZ doesn't mean anything. Doesn't come tougher than the Proteas at home!

Yes no one can predict Indian win there. There is no practice match so Indian team might struggle in first test.

I'm still worried about 'our' pace attack or lack of. Zaheer must be 100% fit and other bowlers need to up their tempo by quite a bit!

That Amla spells trouble too!

To tell you the truth I am not really worried about bowling. I am more worried about our batting. If they can play in those swinging/seaming conditions after playing in sub continent for almost 2 years.

Match practice is way ahead of net practice. India should have played at least 1 practice match there because they'll be playing in completely different pitches over there.

I do Sporty... Aussies will up their game but now England have the 'taste' and have properly warmed up. If I'm honest I never rated England at all in the past but I really do beleive they will do it. Like India they don't seem short of 'options' at the moment.

Yes the way they batted in the second innings of first test we can perhaps believe that they can win against Australia. But still will have to wait till the finish of second test to see if they really can win Ashes.

BTW replied to your email

Pace is good
by makdi man on Dec 02, 2010 05:25 PM  | Hide replies

This may prove to be a blessing in disguise for India as Harbhajan is not in great bowling form to take wickets even on Indian pitches while Ishant, Sreesanth and Zaheer are in relatively much better form even in tough Indian conditions. Ojha, if picked, can always work as a economy bowler.

You don't need economy bowlers in tests. You want wicket taking bowlers.

Find three bowlers who strike on a regular basis first and then talk of four strike bowlers. :-D

In south africa I think all will become strike bowlers provided pitches are bowling friendly. Look at what happened to that so called pace battery of South Africa in UAE

Dec 10 last one day against New Zealand and Dec 16 first test against South Africa. What a ridiculous schedule!
Though they are making up for it with replacements and the likes.

by Ajay Dev Singh on Dec 02, 2010 05:14 PM  | Hide replies

Indian on anyday can have their loosemotions and constipation. SA should afraid of us, as our petu and tondu pacers are either drinking and eating paranthas to increase their tummy line. They will surpris them with their superfast spin (120-130kmph).

You may be surprised to know that Zaheer Khan currently holds the third position in ICC Test bowlers ratings.
