Commentators praise Munaf Patel and Rohit Sharma as well. No one over heard that thing, isn't it? :-)

Not sure about that but I think I read article by people like Mark Richardson at cricinfo. I don't remember exactly.

Now BCCI also made flat pitch for the first two tests for New Zealand Board, in return. ;-)

@ Sports Lover, I can only be found, exclusively, in rediff. That too in sports section.

But does this mean that if the pitches are not green New Zealand and South Africa can not play to win?

That time Indian bowling was not very good one. this time was have some experience bowlers, who are bowling well at flat tracks. Like You seen Zaheer Bowl against Aus or Ishant & shree bowl against NZ in last match.

That was one talking point at that time. Commentators were too discussing about it. People like Mark Richardson wrote in their columns.

Carry on with your ducking practice. It is required for the next series for fans too. :-)
Malik is out, reason he gave bowling to part time bowler to bowl last over opponents need 48 runs in the last over and they made it. and Malik is sacked
Talks about Ashes and then says it's no longer about England v Australia; doesn't get bigger than the 2 best teams in the World - India and SA :-) Here's a short extract for those that care to read...
" But everyone knows India need to win this series, or their status as Test cricket’s No.1 side will ring hollow. As consistent as India have been in the last three years, in that time they’ve played just 22 of their last 40 Tests at home, another eight of those were played in Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. In the same time frame, South Africa have played 35 Tests, just 14 at home.
In fact, the records of the two sides, not taking into account India’s significant advantage through playing at home so often, are remarkably similar. India have won 18 Tests and lost 7, South Africa have won 19 and lost eight.
Both have won historic series in England in that time, but India have been stronger at defending their home base having won their last three series on home soil, South Africa haven’t won a home series since beating Bangladesh in 2008.
Significantly for India, though, their record in South Africa is horrendous. They’ve won just one Test here out of 16 dating back 18 years. Thus the instruction from their coach Gary Kirsten that their top batsmen spend 10 days here practicing before the series starts is understandable. They are desperate for a series win, it will underline their No.1

I liked the last para..we should win there to assert ourselves as a number one team..real test for Sachin/Dravid/Laxman..
Re: Excellent article in South African journal :-)
by Sports Lover on Dec 02, 2010 06:22 PM
Yes it is their real test before beating or even drawing with SA they cannot be true number 1.
I am more worried about batsmen who have been playing in subcontinental conditions for almost 2 years. South Africa will be a big change. First test might be a struggle.
Re: I am not worried about bowlers in those SA Conditions
by cricketfan on Dec 02, 2010 06:16 PM
True..if S/A pace bowlers bowl well Zaheer/Ishant/Sreesanth can match them...the batsmen have toreally make use of the nets which is the only compensation now.
Re: I am not worried about bowlers in those SA Conditions

Especially, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Suresh Raina. First Test India always struggle home or away.
Re: Re: I am not worried about bowlers in those SA Conditions

But in test matches I think they'll provide completely different green pitches. It may not be the same as T20 pitches.

Green Pitches can go against them also. They Know In last test series in SA, Indian Bowlers Zak, Shree & RP bundled them in test match

Green pitches our batting is a problem as Sports Lover pointed earlier. Hashim Amla, Jacques Kallis and AB De Villiers can play better.
