So, finally, will the so called god deliver when it matters?
by sandeep kumar on Aug 06, 2010 07:49 PM  | Hide replies

After 20 years of run accumulating, esp in the first innings under good conditions, heres a challenge: crumbling pitch, india in trouble, series at stake,5th day etc. These were the kind of situations gavaskar, waugh, lara used to prosper, which means, they deliver when IT MATTERS! Now since millions worship tendulkar as god, it is time for him to deliver and take India to victory. I am not sachin basher mind you, unlike others who call him names, but it has to be said that players who deliver in stress are the ones that are considered the greatest ever. We saw that first innings, even mithun scored the same amnt of runs!

how about other greatest batsmen like greatest captain cool dhobi and laxman... do they need to support him or just sachin need to play almost every ball and score almost all runs...

The God would have gone today. Thanks to umpire Simon Taufel who gave him a life today in the dying monents of the day and India wuold had been 53-4 or even worse.

15.6 Randiv to Tendulkar, no run, loud shout for lbw It landed around the leg stump line and turned. Tendulkar was shaping to defend. The Hawk eye shows it would have clipped the outer half of the leg stump. That's why Taufel didn't give it i guess. He would have felt it was missing the leg stump.

In the first innings Simon Taufel had saved him when he was at 39.

Unfortunately for you, Simon Taufell went by the rules of the game. IF URDS were there in place and used, the batsman would have been ruled 'not out'. Because the ball clipped the extreme top of the stump, and that's where the benefit of the doubt goes to the batsman.

Learn the rules better.

Frankly speaking, the way he got out in the first innings disappointed me...being a senior batsman, it was his responsibility to protect the other batsmen following from the fresh early morning pitch/bowlers. Let's hope he delivers tomorrow.

I think India has good chance of winning the match. 204 runs required and we have Laxman, Raina, Dhoni to rise to the occassion. Abhimanyu , Mishra and Ojha too can bat well against Sri Lankans.

The good thing is that deadly Muralitharan is not there.

Its not as if Sachin needs to prove anything to anyone.. but what a gift it will be if he plays a blinder in the second innings like in Chennai vs England.. may be it will soothe his scars from another one from chennai , against Pakistan..

Go for it.!!!

All depends on....
by mang on Aug 06, 2010 07:30 PM  | Hide replies

Tomorrow we will see one more instance where Mr. Master plaster will fail to deliver. Had Rahul Dravid not got out in an unfortunate way, we had every chance of winning this match. Now it purely depends on Suresh Raina & Dhoni. Master plaster as usual will get out within first hour of the play leaving others to battle it out. Laxman would in his usual style get run out.

I think he will deliver tomorrow. He has got a life from the umpire today (Taufel does not give him LBW :-)

Come ratings are no good. why you care.

I would rather have non-Indians saying India is strong team rather we being ranked#1
